BALLOU: "There are rumors that Philadelphia would like to take you. What have you heard from the Eagles' camp?"

JACKSON: "I haven't heard anything this week. It's been pretty quiet on my end. I did hear that Philadelphia is interested, but my dad, along with Dallas Cowboys fans, are praying that they make a move or a surprise trade or something to get higher in the draft, because I don't think I'll be around at the 22nd pick."

BALLOU: "How excited will you be if the Dallas Cowboys select you?"

JACKSON: "I would be extremely excited. Dallas is America's Team, and if you're an American, you've got to be a fan. I would be extremely happy because Coach Bill Parcells is a Hall of Fame coach and I would love to learn the game from him and I think he would help me for many years to come."

BALLOU: "If you do go to Dallas and you get to endorse something in Dallas, what one thing in Dallas would you like to endorse?"

JACKSON: "Cowboy boots. It would be something different. Not only does it represent the state of Texas, but it represents the Cowboys, and if you're going to be a Cowboy, you have to have a pair of spurs on."

They typed Philly in the first question, but I'm guessing that's a typo and Ballou really said Dallas. Either that or Jackson is easily confused..

I heard the Jets are trying to trade Lamont Jordan to Oakland.

Maybe this will open up them to take Jackson around #12.

Maybe with Allen and our pick we can move up...thats the only likely scenario of us moving up to get him....even that is a stretch....

If Det trades down...he is gone!

I still say we will get him.

I am wondering since he is talking like that if he has been told the cowboys will move up to take him or something.

Most guys do not say a particular team before drafted unless they have a feeling about the chance of being drafted by them.

I hate to give up picks, but if we can get some extra picks somehow then I hope we move to take him.

BTW HOSTILE...check your private messages.

I would LOVE for him to fall to us. Question....Is he that much better than K. Jones? Thoughts?

Dr. Z has K. Jones going before Jackson in his mock. Jones to the Broncos at 17 and Jackson to the Ravens (via trade) at 21. Jones is speedier, but Jackson brings a load. He's definitely a Parcells type back..

I hope we can somehow package our first and Larry Allen in order to move up to somewhere in the teens if he's still around then. That way we wouldn't have to sacrifice any draft picks.

Stephen Jackson has been my #1 pick for the 'Boys all along. Not saying he would fall to them, just saying that's who I've wanted them to get. If he's not there take Jones or drop down and get extra picks!

EXCITING WEEKEND coming up to say the least! :D

Why would the Ravens, who have Jamal Lewis, trade back to their original pick to take another RB?

I think it was New England via trade with Baltimore for Kyle Boller. New England traded for Corey Dillon. Won't go RB at 21.

You'd have to ask the good doctor, brah. According to him, insurance incase Lewis's drug charges keep him out. Z has Baltimore trading back to 21 because no one the Patsies need will be available. Here's a link (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/writers/dr_z/04/22/zim.mockdraft/index.html) to the article..

Nothing would infuriate me more than to see Steven Jackson be taken in the pick directly in front of us at 21. I mean seriously... if Jackson is still there at #20, there has to be SOMETHING we can package along with our 1st round pick that doesn't involve another draft pick to move up a measly 2 spots..

Bill Wooten

First and foremost, I want our 1st rounder to be a starter for the next 5+ years. Dallas could draft a RB in the 3rd round and they would start over Hambrick next year. However, I'm not convinced that either of the 1st round prospects would solidify the RB position for the next 5+ years.

I am starting to get the feeling that Jackson WILL be a Cowboy.

Just call it a warm feeling I got from late night chat :D

Unless Detroit uses the #5 on him.

We're setting ourselves up for a big let down fellas. Too many teams in front like Jackson and limited picks and an unwanted LA aren't enough to jump em all.

I'm willing to be wrong though..

i'm sure he said more or less the same thing about every team in the league that might draft him.

Nah, all that he has to do is tell every other team "Don't draft me, cuz I won't play for you." After all, if it can work for Eli........... ;)

On a scale of 1 to 10 rate how happy you'd be tomorrow if we got him in the first.

Mine would be a 10 easily. I don't think there is a player out there who gives this team a bigger push to the next level than this guy. Perfect for Parcells system.

Does the scale jump to 100? If so...100 on the happy scale!!!

Kevin Jones would be an 8.5

It's looking like Steven Jackson is going to go top ten and if that's the case, the chances of Dallas dealing up to grab him are remote at best. Personally, I believe trading up isn't in their plans UNLESS someone they REALLY like slides 18-20.

When you get down towards the bottom of round one, there are several teams trying to trade down, not just the Cowboys. Getting into the upper half of the round, there will probably be movement by teams to go get Jackson.

I doubt Houston would take Jackson at ten, but thinking about the cost to move up into that area to go get Jackson...well the price for us would be steep. You're talking about our first three picks of this draft OR our first two this year and our second rounder in 2005.

I agree with the camp that believes Dallas will be trying to add draft picks this weekend, not packaging. And the more I think about it, the more I think Kevin Jones will be off the board at 22 as well.
