Jim Rome just said Chad Hennings is coming on his show to talk abotu the death of Pat Tillman. Thoguht I'd pass that along.

but has pretty much dedicated his whole show to Pat Tillman. He hasn't mentioned sports one time. Chad Hennings was good also. Very somber, and you could tell he was a little shaken. Said that no matter what your politics, please support the troops and take the time to say thank you.

Chad Hennings was clearly shaken up. His voice was cracking a couple of times.

He asked that when we see service men and women we simply walk up to them and thank them. Said that means more to them than anything else.

He also said that at times like this, and not just the death of an athlete, that we put politics aside and focus on the loss.

Rome has dedicated his entire show to Pat Tillman and his memory. Soem things that have come out.

Tillman had over 200 media requests for an interview after he decided to become a soldier. He took none of them.

He was a college graduate so he couldahve joined as an officer and received 30K per year. He turned it down and wanted soldier's pay of 18k per year.

He was only 27.

He leaves a wife, Marie.

He was an academic all American with a 3.84 GPA. Was a college football 2nd team All American. Graduated with honors in 3.5 years of college ball.

He told his college coach Bruce Snyder that he would never accept a red shirt. He was going to be there 4 years and wanted to make the most of it.

Some of the NFL players who make 6,7,8,9,10 million a year should take note of this unselfish patriot. If it were not for mem and women like Tillman, they would not be able to enjoy their fame and money. These players (all sports) whom reap the rewards of multi milllion dollar contracts should donate some of it back to the families who has lost love ones in the war against terror. It would be a small price to pay
