With the Rangers payroll I don't think Torre would have anywhere close to the success he had in NY. Plus, he wouldn't come in as an assistant to Ron Washington, and I'd rather the Rangers not make yet another change in management and stick it out with Ron Washington/Jon Daniels. He'll have plenty of offers elsewhere.

He was a losing manager for all three teams he managed before he came to the yankees. I think having a 200 million dollar payroll made him appear better then he was.

No and nor would I want him here unless he brings Hughes and Chamberlain, if Daniels can pull that off I'll personally do his laundry for a year.
