And you have a full quarter of hell left. If you're the coach do you keep your guys in or put the scrubs in? Note: the other team's 2nd & 3rd stringers are in at this point.
If I knew how...I'd make this a poll.

I would let my backups get some PT. No need to get a guy hurt that I need all year.

Make this a poll? It was dumb to make this it's own thread. This could of gone in the 'other' thread.

Somewhat ironic that you call someone dumb, then type the words "could of".

I am guessing that puts you in the Joe Gibbs "I'd play the starters untill someone wakes me up" camp.
Thanks for those great comments!

This would be a great time to find new starters off the bench, everyone has seen coaches who have better players on the bench while their favs. are in.
After all these starters got you down 40. It would show them they need to work harder to keep their job.

I'd be like Wade Phillips at the end of the NE game, having my starters in and calling timeouts in the last minute of the game to beg the opposition to score yet again...

I'd run an all-out blitz when the opponent is trying to kneel on the ball. This isn't pee-wee football, it's the NFL. You play hard on every play, no matter the situation. If they don't like my linebacker smashing their quarterback while he takes a knee, they can learn how to block.

I agree.... A good time to do that would have been when Brady did the fake spike.....
Maybe Freeney will slap that cheese eating grin off Brady's face this coming Sunday!

Bellichick on WEEI addressed running score up yesterday. Generally he feels it is more disrespect to not play a team all out. As an ex DC he would rather a team allow you a chance to stop them and get the ball back.
He also said cripes, we scored on 7 of our first 9 drives. We are playing a game here and he's not going to ask players to let up. Also said with onsides and turnovers kept giving the ball back to him.
He made a point that at end he threw on 4th because the were blitzing everyone at that point. Said he was worried he was going to get a RB killed and it would be easier to convert passing against it if thats what they wanted to do.
I'll have to check but I think 1972 Dolphins won a game 52-0. They are just blowing up the NFL. Scored more points in 8 games than 8 teams did all of last year.
I can't wait for rematch - I think we can beat the Hooded Dominator.

The dominator Hoodie as much said Had Wade not called time out he would have kneeled and run clock out. He said he was not giving ball back in 2 score game, especially after Buffalo Finish.

Depends. I may take out older vets but in the case of the Skins and Campbell I agree with Troy and say you keep him in. Each coach is going to look at the situations different depending on the players on his team. If you know you have a guy who is banged up but is playing you take him out younger guys need the snaps.

Well idk this is a tough one, id think id have to keep my A team in because all it takes is 4 pick 6's and their PATs and all of a "sudden its a 14 point game." So ya i think id have to try and create more seperation just incase :laugh1:

Regardless of who is in the game I would run the football on first and 2nd down letting the clock wind down and either pass or run it on 3rd down depending on the distance needed. If you knelt, ran the clock and punted it would be impossible for any team to come back from 38-0 in one quarter.
