And it wouldn't be worthwhile for them to pay that much to a top 5 pick to only *possibly* upgrade a position they already have filled with a pretty good starter. It's a high risk, low reward scenario for them.

And no on else has two first rounders, so we're probably the most likely candidate.

The Patriots got away with the spygate basically with no punishment.

Their punishment is very very weak.

I just think that some how, some way, Jerry Jones will get McFadden. He hasn't coveted a player like this in a long time.

Do I think that JJones will give to much? Yeah, I do. It wouldn't surprise me if he gave up both firsts this year and even a second next year to secure the pick.

And if Miami has the pick, they would probably take it since they want to restock their roster. After all, they just traded Chambers to start the process. And it could be possibile that they could take both 2nds next year, theirs and ours, and trade for a late 1st if they really wanted someone.

If Mcfadden is gone I hope we stay put and somehow get Malcom Kelly.

After the combine and scout evaluations I expect him to be the #1 prospect at receiver for the draft.

Thats the guy who I would love for us to get too. He would fit perfectly on this team as well.

Doucet has good size, great speed, great hands, runs very nice routes, has a great understanding of defensive schemes, knows how to split zones, and would give us the deep threat.

Derek Anderson is playing too well for that to happen. He's the biggest secret in the league right now - take a look at his numbers.

Kelly's too slow for my tastes. I don't like tall, slow receivers. Doucet has good size, great speed, great hands, runs very nice routes, has a great understanding of defensive schemes, knows how to split zones, and would give us the deep threat.

Kelly is not slow at all. Hes fast as heck.

I think he was like a bigtime sprinter coming out of highschool.

He was more known for his speed than anything else.

With the speed training hes about to get id bet he drops a low 4.4 - 4.3 at the combine.

Yeah, loss of a 1st round pick is nothing. Only the most extreme punishment I've ever seen.

I've been saying this from the beginning. The league knew this going in and decided to "punish" them by not punishing them.

Their season is a sham anyway.

i honestly feel that had Goodell merely stripped the Pats of their first day picks.........the 2 firsts and the second.....and barred them from trading into the first day........along with the fines, that would have been sufficient punishment. I doubt another team would have ever tried to cheat again after that punishment.

BTW, i like how Goodell stated recently that if anyone else gets caught, their punishment will be a lot more severe............well of course, cause you cant get any softer than a slap on the hand..except maybe sitting in timeout.

Totally irrelevant - they traded for that pick -- it was not a pick awarded by the league. You can't change a penalty simply because a team was smart enough to acquire an extra pick.
