Every time I see Carrie Underwood, I'm reminded of Laura Baugh...

And right now, most of you are asking "Who??"

Back in the 70s, Laura Baugh was the next big thing to hit the LPGA tour, a pretty young girl with a fine golf game... I had a rather large crush on the girl back then...

Then I went to see an exhibition involving her, Arnold Palmer and the head pro at Chantilly National Golf Club and his wife, Dick and Alice Canney... Alice was an LPGA pro at the time, though not one who'd ever had much success... I knew Dick and played his course on more than a few Mondays, his assistant pro being one of my closest friends in the world to this day...

Well, when I got my first good look, up close and personal, at Laura Baugh, the "crush" died a quick death... turns out she's one of those girls who pretty much had to lay the makeup on with a trowel to look so "attractive" on TV, and that heavily made-up look does not translate well to broad daylight...

That's the feeling I get every time I see a pic of Carrie, that girl uses WAY too much makeup for my taste... Tony can do better, IMO...

I agree with you on her formal occassions. She has said they come in and make her up for them. If you want to see the Real Carrie, the one Tony sees, take a look at some of the early morning radio interviews. The casual look, and the winning personality is no doubt what keeps Tony calling every day. She is a good match in casual and funny for him. It is like looking at him and saying he is a dork because he wears a ball cap all the time.

Here is something different though. I've met her on 4 occasions. The first time was just in passing and very brief. the other three times we were both at an event. The one thing I remembered about her was her perfume. It was the same scent each time and it was real nice. I never smelled that perfume before and thought it was kinda interesting she used the same scent all the time.

Anyway, thought I'd share.
