McFadden is going to be out of our range. I'm not too keen on the idea of packaging a bunch of picks to get him with a draft so deep at RB. I'd really love for Kevin Smith to declare early and get drafted by Dallas.
Of course, he'd probably go early too. Guy is a smoooooooth. He runs so effortlessly and is an absolute workhorse. He has over 2400 yards this season!

I think if I had to go with someone besides D Mac i'd look at Jonathan Stewart or Ray Rice to compliment the Beast Marion Barber.

Rice is another option I like. Not real sure he's as big a gamebreaker as Smith though.

Those would also be my next two choices.

Forsett from Cal.
Rhymes with Dorsett.

How has he been doing since Dixon went down.
I was starting to think Stewart was a product of that system and Dixon was a big reason for Stewart's success.
I honestly don't know though... I haven't watched much of him since they beat Michigan early in the season.

Since Dixon got hurt he went for 131, 33, and 166
Arizona, UCLA, Oregon State in that order.
He runs hard and I like his style a lot.

I've seen a lot of posters rave about him I just haven't had the ability to watch too much of him.

I have not seen Stewart play, so I won't comment. He was listed as a 4.5 guy coming out of HS though. Smith is said to be a 4.5 guy as well.

I hate watching a highlight film from ground level.
And I hate any music that was ever in Madden.

I do like seeing him catch it out of the backfield.

Yeah that highlight film sucks. It reminds me of trying to watch the Stanback highlight reel from last year.
Its better than nothing I guess but not by much.
I didn't know he was the #1 back in the nation coming out of high school
Obviously the guy can play.

Yeah but it realy doesn't matter what your keen on or what any of us want because Jerry wants Darren and he usualy gets what he wants.

If we don't go after McFadden, I just don't see the point in taking a RB in the first round. If we can't get him, then I see us going CB and WR, in that order. We can take a shot at a backup to Barber in the 2nd round, or just keep Jones and not need another RB at all.

I think that Kevin Smith would be an awesome pick for Dallas if he comes out. There is talk that he may be one of the front runners for the heisman next year if he stays and he could potentially vault into the top ten draft slots, which would mean much, much more cash. Having said that, if he breaks Barry Sanders single season rushing record in the Liberty Bowl, people will have to take notice. Quite a talent.

Price for McFadden will be too high, Stewart might be there with our first pick or Rice and Slaton in the second.

I don't like Slaton because he has too many Fumbles from my liking. I like Stewart a lot though. He is a beast from 2-3 games I saw.

I want Kevin Smith as well.......and have for over a month now.
In fact, I want Kevin Smith and Jamal Charles. I would love watching our RBs use abuse opposing defenses for years to come.........Barber, Smith, and Charles.
I would not be upset if we ended up with Stewart or Rice......but Smith is my top choice. Unfortunately like someone previously stated, he might end up going back to UCF.
Also, he will probably break Barry Sanders record. But, if he does, it will have taken him 2 more games to do so.

I WANT McFADDEN!
I was watching America's Game, the one about the 1977 cowboys. They talked about how it was already a great team but was missing one element, a break away RB, so what did they do........trade up for Tony Dorsett.

I would love to have Smith , but I saw an interview where he said he would not be coming out this seson and already had his class schedule for 2008 . That can all change as people start throwing $$$ figures at him , but it doesn't look good .
Rashard Mendenhall is another interesting back who's flying under the radar , but probably won't come out this season .
I'd like to see Dallas look for another back to replace Tyson Thompson too . A third down type scat back with speed . Anthony Alridge from Houston would be an interesting situational back .

Haven't you learned your lessons in the 90's when we keep trying to draft backups??
Take the best player available!!!

Smith would be an excellent pick.
I can't see him coming out though. Way too much talent coming out this year for him to make the jump as well. Next year all of college footballs eyes will be on him and his draft stock will skyrocket. He'd be wise to stay in school.
McFadden ain't happening people. Like it or not, we have holes to fill.
