something else i read was that even if everyone did sign on to kyoto - in 50 years it still wouldn't make much of a difference. yet in 50 years, we killed our planet.

That is all Kyoto was - PR. It would have done nothing. Do some of the GW fanatics here remember when it was brought up before the Senate what happened? The vote on it?
