Could someone please posts all the draft picks we have made under Parcells and all of the free agent moves-
Like I have said all along Parcells is a great head coach but a lousy Gm- his record with New england and the jets speaks for itself.
As difficult as our last 8 games are - we need to win the next three to have a shot at the playoffs-in all likelihood we are looking at a 8-8 record

I think he would refuse to accept your criticism...that's why he continues to bring in his old draft picks...he still believes in them.

Im not even sure the "Great head coach" tag applies to Parcells anymore. He has made some boneheaded calls and decisions this season.
I think the game passed this guy by a long time ago.

I'm amazed how quickly people can change....
(not talking about Parcells, just you guys)
Apparently it didn't pass him by last year though, right?...
I'm sure when we were 10-6 and in the playoffs last year, you weren't grumbling-"This Parcells isn't all he's cracked up to be-I think his best years are definitely behind him"

then what did you think about our 10-6 season last year? How did it happen?
How'd we compete with a defunct head coach?

This post sums up the problem in Dallas. We have a hall of fame coach and a great owner who will spend bucks to win. However, we are missing a true GM and in fact Parcells track record as a GM is not good. There is nothing wrong with that and is not meant to be a knock against Parcell's it is just the way it is.
This team has very little talent on the field or waiting in the wings and that is the fault of the GM. Plus, when the Cleveland Browns are out-meneuvering you that is not good.
We are 2 years out at best for really competing for a Superbowl. And if they keep making the draft and FA moves they have been we will never get there.

It's not bad...it isnt superb or great but it isnt bad...his 1st draft netted us 3 very good players with his 1st 3 picks, Newman, Al Johnson and Jason Witten, jury is out on Bradie James, the 4th rd pick...we've made some good little deals and free agent signings...trading a 6th rd pick for Terry Glenn has to be one of the better trades in the league recently...we signed Dan Campbell, getting Greg Ellis to extend his deal early to the amount he signed was a great deal...trading two late rd picks for Kenyon Coleman wasnt a bad deal...bringing in forgotten man Eric Ogbogu for DE depth was a good move...
this years draft is too early to judge and may take well into the next couple of years before we know because of injuries this yr...

Dave, you're very optimistic. But the drafting hasn't been THAT great.
1 - Newman: taken #5, should be an impact player. No INT's since last year's Washingtong game, and has been exposed as a "serviceable" player this year.
2 - Johnson: decent player taken in the 2nd round. His first year playing, so the jury is still out. But I don't see any dominating performances by him.
3 - Whitten: can be a very good TE, but is developing into a fumbler. He won't see the field very long if this continues to happen.
So these three picks are nothing spectacular, and won't get us within sniffing distance of the Super Bowl if we continue to draft serviceable players with the #5 pick.
2-3 says it all.

Parcells history does show that he isnt a great GM. He is however, a superior motivator and teacher, and thats where it ends.
The same can be said about Gibbs except for the only draft pick he ever truly picked was Desmond Howard if I remember correctly. He always had guys like Beathard and now Cerrato around to help evaluate those players. BP has been the guy making the picks for his teams since he left NY. A majority of them have not been great, especially in the higher rounds.
BP is a great coach, the game hasnt passed him by, this team just isnt talented enough to be a threat week in and week out.

Do you want some past names?
Ty Law
Drew Bledsoe
Teddy Bruschi
Curtis Martin
Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't a number of you howling for Law earlier this year? Wouldn't that have been another of "Parcell's old picks"--or would Law have gotten an exemption?
And just out of curiousity--how badly have Glenn, Johnson, Campbell (from last year), Anderson, & even Vinny been playing?
Another question: of the players that have left the team--you know, the ones who suddenly have become the greatest to ever play their positions & how could we have been so stupid to have let them go according to some of you--how have they fared this season? Let's see, I can think of Joey going to Tampa Bay--boy that was a boneheaded move according to so many--Joey was just going to light it up in TB. Cough. Mario? Hmm, let me check the record, but isn't TB dead last in their division? Ekuban? Zuriel? Hambrick?
Please, feel free to jump in & show me the superstars they've become & the 1st place unbeaten records they've led their teams to.

Don't forget, Parcells drafted Pennington, Lav Coles, and Kevin Mawae and others.

He brought in Mawae from Seattle, Yazuka.
But he did draft Randy Thomas, and a couple of DEs named Abraham and Ellis.

You can’t just look at draft picks. Signing UFA’s needs to be taken in as well.
It’s too early to look at this year’s rookies, so let’s take a look at guys from last year instead:
1. Terrence Newman
2. Al Johnson
3. Jason Witten
4. Bradie James
5. BJ Tucker – Cut
6. Zuriel Smith – Cut
7. Justin Bates – cut
8. Torrin Tucker
9. Keith O’Neill
10. RaShard Lee
11. Matt McBriar
12. Eric Bickerstaff
13. Tony Romo
Out of those 12, he’s got 5 of them as starters (James is pretty much a starter along with Johnson). O’Neill is one of your best special teams players, Lee shows promise and may be your best tailback, and McBriar is a great punter.
I think this was a superb job by Parcells last season. This season hasn’t been the case so far, but they did have a much worse draft position and not as many picks. Plus, 2 of them (Julius & Petermann) are out injured right now.

I still think BP is a good coach. But I'm starting to wonder if maybe there's a reason he wasn't allowed to shop for the groceries in NY and NE.
He also is way to reliant on guys he knows from the past. It's almost like he's gotten lazy and doesn't want to teach and train the young ones anymore.
All I know is if we blow the '05 draft then it's going to be a long time before this thing gets turned around.

I think the reality is that Parcells is a great coach...one of the best of all time and he's a pretty good GM, but not great.
What happens is that people look at his abilities as a coach and they expect him to be just as great at having an eye for talent. When he doesn't hit home runs with every talent he picks, people start to question his decision making and label him as being worse of a personnel decision maker than he actually is.
