Every year the best player in college football gets a 99-100. Last year it was Calvin Johnson. The year before it was Reggie Bush etc etc

Any two of these six in the first round would work just fine for me, and if the Scout rating system isn't too off the mark, all six could well still be on the board when the Boys pick... there's two cornerbacks, two wide receivers and two running backs for the Boys to pick from...

The running back choice is interesting to me, and assumes that Marion Barber will be back, but not Julius Jones... so if you're looking for a backup for Barber, do you want a back with a similar running style, so that if the starter gets hurt, the team won't have to change the offense too much, or do you want a back who can give you a few plays a game, and give defenses a different look??

If you want the Barber-esque back, go with Stewart, if you want a change of pace, go with the more elusive Jones, who'd also give you a viable option in the return game...

My favorite of the bunch is Sweed, and not just because I'm a Horns fan... I think he's gonna be a better pro receiver than he was a college receiver... I swear I see some Michael Irvin in him...

I'm not willing to bet he won't be taken in the first 2 rounds because there are idiot GMs that do all sorts of stupid things (e.g., Ted Ginn at #9 overall). And typically the first couple of tiers of WRs go in the first two rounds. He's not a first two rounds talent, though.

You really need to do your homework, theogt... coming out of high school, according to his bio on the UT website, he:

placed fourth in the 110m hurdles (14.10) at the 2003 Texas 4A track & field meet … finished sixth as a junior (14.34) …

I rather doubt that any 4.6 40 type could put up those kinds of numbers in that event... that speaks directly to straight line speed, I think...

So does his average per TD catch over his college career, which is over 30 yards (on 23 TD catches)... he's also averaged 15.5 yards per catch for his 143 career receptions... again, generally speaking a 4.6 receiver is a "possession" receiver, and those are not the stats you expect from a pure possession receiver...

Sweed's a good deal faster than you think he is...

I tend to agree with your statement, problem is he reminds me alot of Micheal Jenkins from Ohio State who shocked everyone with a sub 4.4 forty. I'm not saying he's going to do that I think he's a 4.5-6 guy personally. I think a player like Malcolm Kelly gets a ton of separation down the field, that I have never seen Sweed do. I guess the proof will be in the stopwatch.

He came along at a time when players didn't perfect their 40 time like they do now. In just a matter of a few weeks a player cna go from 4.6s to 4.4s with proper training.

That just isn't true. Scouts.com do not give out a 99 every year. It is reserved for truly elite players, of which I personally think McFadden is one.

Can I get in on this bet....? Limas Sweed will never last until the 3rd round and more than likely won't make it out of the first. Prototypical NFL WR's with good hands from big programs will always be in demand. Heck, even Dawayne Jerrett who was/is a slow, prodding WR was taken in the 2nd and I think Sweed is twice the receiver Jarrett is.
