This is an actual email we got from our company Cowboys rep.
DEAR COWBOY FANS,
I'm conducting a Survey. "Yes or No"
This is my plan to have a Dallas Cowboys player make a guess appearance to Company X. This event will be held in the AVC Display room which will hold 200 to 400 people. I want to keep it at a minimal of 200 people. Right now I'm only sending out email to my Cowboy Fans or if you know of anyone that would like to participant please send them this e-mail for voting.
I'm trying to find out who would actually come to this event. By clicking Yes or No is the your answer to the Survey. This is just a Test Run before it goes out Plant wide to see who would actually like to come to this event and pay to see a Dallas Cowboy player.
The player will only comment to Tuesday only. Company X will only allow us to have this during lunch hour for 1 hour on Tuesday Dec 21st from 11:00 to 12:00 or 11:30 to 12:30pm. My question to you is would you pay to see a popular number 1 Dallas Cowboy player. By clicking Yes you're telling me you will pay and by clicking No means you will not pay
Each player requires a fee. We will charge $50.00 this includes; free lunch, sign autograph, and if you like to ask a question. I don't know if we have time for all 200 people to ask a question but all 200 will get a sign autograph and lunch.
Its not that serious if it doesn't happen now it will after the season is over. I know you are asking WHY. This is just to say" Thank you" for all your support on ticket sales.
Please if you have questions and comments save them for later.
The top players that could make appearance are only:
1. Eddie George# 27
2. Roy Williams #31
3. Matt Lehr
4. Al Singleton
5. Larry Allen
6. Glover
7. Newman
8. Ellis
9. Dat Nguyen
10. Dan Campbell

For 50 bucks I would want more than an autograph and a stinkin lunch. You can get autographs at training camp for free. And a few hot dogs and beers still wouldnt get to the 50 dollar range.
JMO.
BTW- RW is the only player I would want to see from that list if I were a Cowboys fan. Or maybe Dat. Only reason to see Eddie George would be if I brought a yard stick for him to sign for his YPC recently.

It is a tad pricey.
Oh and I would not mind getting autos from any of those guys...Lehr being at the bottom of the list.

That and an hour isn't enough time to sign 200 autographs. I'd go simply to take some pictures, I would enjoy meeting LA personally.

LA would be one I would want an autograph from without a doubt...they guy has been one of the best O-Linemen of all time.
Others I would like autographs from because I like how they play and their attitude (dan Campbell).

Hell yeah, I must have missed his name the first time I read the list. Campbell is another I'd like to meet too.

Some idiot suggested a Cowboys cheerleader and sent it out to everybody on the mailing list. Poor guy'll probably be handed his pink slip by the end of the day for not adhering to the diversity code.
Sexist pig-dog. :p

So we're to assume Player X would be getting about $5000-$7500 for an hour of his time, not too shabby a price, I remember back in 01 working part time at Circuit City we had Tony Hill for 2 hours, and the bum charged us 40 grand!

No, Circuit City was dumb for saying that they would pay him the 40K. As long as these companies keep paying them, why should they bring the price down?

I would say for $50, no, I wouldn't pay that much for what is offered. I mean, for several dollars more, I could watch a whole NFL game with all the players...just not up close. Just MO.
And in terms of the players mentioned, here are the ones I would want to see:
1. Roy Williams #31
2. Larry Allen
3. Woodson (should be available since he ain't playin :))
5. Newman
6. Dat
7. Glover

a mistake here, talk to your company rep again and see if you can get Keyshawn's name on the list.
For all the RW homers here you're probably looking at a couple of hours with a soft spoken kid and a massive autograph bee in which his hand will be so sore that the last autographs will look like pictographs from the caves of France. What a waste of time and money.
My fifty bucks would go to Keyshawn with some forwarded questions to see if you can get his mouth going and provide you guys with a real insight on what being a Cowboy and an NFL Player is really like. That man has never met a microphone that he can't carees with his lips, he would reward your hard earned fifty bucks with more than just, "We just want to work a 150% for you fans out there." Or "Football's great because of the guys I get to play with each Sunday."
Think about which Cowboy would give a lively session on the "Best Damn Sport Show" and go get him for your company event. From you r list the only guy I think would chirp abit might be TNew.
You guys want someone who will sing like a jail bird.
