I was reading about Julius Jones' rushing stats in another thread and was curious to see where our current backs stood in the Cowboys' record books. I ended up researching most of the RBs in Cowboys history, and hopefully this is a complete record - please let me know if I left anyone out.

I love this stuff. I had done a top 10 for seasons, but only a top 3 for career marks.

Thanks.

I grew up tracking Emmitt as he chased Cowboys franchise marks and eventually the all-time mark. Since then I've always been fascinated in records, especially franchise records since those are so hard to find outside of the top five (though mostly the current leader is the only one listed).

There could be some players I left out between 10-20, but I'm confident in each of the top 10 marks.

I expect Julius and Marion to both move up a spot in the yardage rankings Sunday. Barber should move into the top three for TDs by 2009 (though he has a really good shot of doing so next year).

Touchdowns: No change.

I really don't think Marion, much as i love him, will ever get near Emmitt's rushing yards record. He may, possibly, catch him in TD's by the time it's over though.

Great stuff. THank you.

Man, I remember how much I liked Don Perkins.

Duane Thomas behind Troy Hambrick. What a waste of potential

I'm not saying he will. He probably wont, cause Emmitt was a scoring machine for years and years and years.

But if there were anything on that list that he caught him on it would be that.

I don't know if he'll come anywhere close to 153 rushing touchdowns, but I definitely think he's in reach of passing Tony Dorsett (72 TDs) at #2 with four or five more years at his current production.

Marion Barber III passed Troy Hambrick yesterday for 11th place on the all-time franchise rushing attempts list, Ron Springs for 10th place for rushing yards, and tied Robert Newhouse (and passed Walt Garrison) for 5th place for rushing touchdowns.
