...it will have to take a trade up.

That was a very nice pick-6 in the Orange Bowl.

the CB class looks really strong this year, alot of guys to choose from, although I don't see a real blue-chipper/Terrence Newman in the group, but still good

Jenkins from THE Ohio State
Cason
Talib
Mike Jenkins
his teammate Trae something or another
Leodis McKelvin
Tracey Porter
Tarrell Thomas

those are just the guys off the top of my head

Combine will tell all with him. Not sure if his top-end speed is elite. (In fact, I'm pretty sure it's not.)

But he's a great ballhawk. If the ball is near him, he usually gets his hands on it somehow.

if his speed isn't up to snuff, expect him to go 2nd round to a cover-2 team

If the ball is near him, he usually gets his hands on it somehow. He did get beat deep on a few plays later, but to his credit he had the speed to close in on the receiver after getting beat initially and he made a play on the ball. Ultimately he got lucky that the WR dropped it, but without a doubt he had a role in forcing the incomplete.

I still think he'll be the 4th corner taken.

How do you think it will shake down, Corner wise?

How do you think it will shake down, Corner wise?Probably Malcolm Jenkins in the top 15, then Mike Jenkins/Cason both somewhere between 15-25, then Talib.

I'm guessing slightly higher than what you are saying.

Good corners are usually a hot commodity in the first round of the draft.

That is why I am iffy about Talib.

It is common for three corners to be taken before the 22nd pick.

The receiver had to all but stop for the underthrown pass.

Not my definition of catch-up speed.

i thought the talk of him last year was he has great speed and that was his whole deal

Not my definition of catch-up speed.Actually, I was going to add to my post that the receiver wasn't really slowing to catch an underthrown pass. He might have slowed some, but he didn't stop. They were both in full stride. Maybe I'm wrong, but I watched it a couple times. I don't have in on DVR anymore, though.

I could be wrong, but I think the talk was about his big-play ability, he had 7 INTs last year

I don't use a DVR, either.

But the first thing that I thought of when it happened was that it was a touchdown if the receiver hadn't been underthrown.

He didn't stop, but he had to slow down and adjust to the ball. That allowed Aquafresh to get back in the play, IMO.

It was a lot like watching a Troy Aikman pass to Michael Irvin, he almost never hit him in stride and Emmitt Smith has the rushing touchdown record because of all the tackles inside the 5 yard line.

Thats one thing I really dislike about the Holidays is that everyone starts basing a propects future on a single game or even play from a bowl game.

Bad teams like the Raiders *cough* Russell *cough* do things like that .

I also dislike how people dismiss a player because he hasn't done anything his rookie year ;)

I've seen Talib all season and can tell you he has good speed not burner speed. But the dude can also play WR and I don't mean just Randy Moss routes either. He will be a first round pick unless he falls on his face at the combine.

I do not want him.....he is not very good....the combine will define him to the middle of the pack

For us to get him, he would have to declare.

I think he's a JR.....

He should be available with our first pick should we chose to go that way, but he won't make it to our 2nd first round pick.

There's a youtube somewhere of Jordy Nelson from KSU absolutely toasting him. Not that Nelson isn't a pretty good prospect himself, but still.

I'm not saying he isn't good, because he obviously is. But I'm not sure how much you'd want to man him up in the pros. On a zone team where he can watch the play develop and break on the ball, he'd be perfect.

Im not saying that hes a bust yet, summer. What i am saying is that he was selected first primarily based on his bowl performance last year. He has a ton of maturity issues, came out early and a questionable work ethic. Now he might suceed and to say he wont is foolish at this point but he IMO was clearly not worth the fist overall selection regardless of how he turns out.

I used to really like Talib. He started off the season really hot on both sides of the ball.

However in the last month, he really didn't provide a lot.

Someone nailed it earlier. Hes a ballhawk but from what I have seen, he takes risks and doesn't have the elite speed to do so.

I'd rather go with someone else.

He won't go up simply based on that one play.

I think he's a 2nd rounder, possible late 1st if someone gets the jones for him. I can't put my finger on why, but I get a very Mike Rumph-like feeling about him.

Trade up??

No kidding.

He's not Deion Sanders. Not even Terrence Newman.

Good corner, like to have him and so on.

But cease and desist before someone gets hurt.

Speed is so important for a CB- especially recovery speed. He aint got it.
