The Earth has seen many climate changes in its history. This period of time has been the most docile climate but it will change no matter what man does. The inhabitants of this planet have either adapted or faded away. This is not to say that we should do nothing.

ROFL.
I love these threads.
It always amuses me to see people post silly things.
Kinda like that commercial, "HHHHelp, I've fallen and can't get up".
What happened 100 million years ago may be debatable but two things are not.
1. We weren't around then so weren't facing extinction.
2. No one is claiming if we reduce greenhouse gases we will survive unchallenged for another 100 million years.
Put another way we will all die, but those who smoke cigarettes and drive drunk and take hard drugs are shortening their lifespan just the same.
Does that mean some nasty old codger can't live to 100 committing every health faux pas? Of course not. But there will be few who can repeat the feat.
But beyond that is there is not any real meat to this article. The science discussed is mostly another weak theory tossed at a chalk board. A specialist in an area(insects) is suggesting the area he happens to know as well as anyone is responsible for killing off the dinosaurs... imagine that. Pretty funny for the skeptics to eat that as a big ole yummy sandwich of truth....

As I said I think research should continue and do a better job of reducing green house gases. My only point is if man thinks that can stop nature then these people are crazy. It is also possible that we reduce the green houses gas and nature will continue as is with the ice caps melting I say this because it has happened before and it will happen again.

Global warming, it snowing in Iraq, no one has a clue, except for AL Gore, the inventor of the internet, Nobel Peace prize recipent, what a joke.

The only thing I'm convinced of is that anyone who is convinced one way or the other regarding global warming and its causes is an idiot.

I agree which is why I think continued research should be done and a bit of open mindness from all sides.

Poor Jt, he desperately tries to deny it- but the record is clear that it was a much warmer world 100 million years ago. And man was not around to cause it. Just another in a steadily increasing amount of evidence to discredit the hysterial started by idiots like bore and kept going by useful fools. (See Lenin for what that means).
Polution is bad any way you look at it- and more is now caused by India and China then the US. yet WE are the ones that get the most grief about it by JT and those like him.

I believe I read, it stemed from flatus build up in the Dinosaurs, so now instead of Dinosaurs it's coming from cows.
To much gas being expelled into our atmosphere
As the late Jim Morrison said Quote " I don't know about you man, but I wana have my kicks before the whole sh-t house goes up in flames"
The sad part is I did read this, I think it was on MSNBC's site and you know their full of it
Now that I think of it maybe it's a build up from cows and Donkeys(Democrats)

I don't think anyone is suggesting we stop researching.
But while we research let's also find alternative fuels and reduce greenhouse gases.
When it is all said and done all the anti-AGW people do is build typing skills, nothing they post makes any difference because they have never yet produced an action to actually reduce our usage of those things we know are finite and are causing the hole in the ozone layer.
It's like arguing diet z,x,y doesn't work while wolfing down nachos with a 64 oz soda. The funnier thing is they are using the argument they got from the soda company.

Which proves only that global warming back then was caused by different factors...

Perhaps they feel that we ought to clean up our own back yard first... perhaps they think that as long as we're officially denying that global warming is real, we have no standing to call for action against global warming...

I'm more shocked that Bumfard believes the world is 100 million years old as I thought he would a good conservative creationist, than him trying to use a stupid argument to prove man is not speeding up global warming now.

Hey, if Burma can convince any thinking man that pumping all these pollutants into our atmosphere and our water isn't hurting us, then there are any number of cigarette companies who'd pay him MILLIONS to come work in their PR department... surely a man capable of pulling off that feat of illusion could help the cigarette manufacturers convince the public that their product is actually good for us...

Silverbear, lighten up and go watch his fiction movie, which by the way has alot of inaccuracies, as far as the Nobel Peace award it was a political shot at Bush. Al Gore, I have nothing but contempt for the man.
Has any one heard that Mars, is having the same warming trend ?
And the reason is?

Bush?
It's the ideology make up of the group that selects the recipient, you can't think that Gore actually deserved it for his SWAG theory do you?
SWAG= Scientific, Wild, ***, Guess of the causes
Yes it was a shot at Bush, because he hasn't jumped into the pool of so called do gooders and assumed man is the cause of this warming trend.
So he's not over reacting to the shouts of the sky is falling and man is the responsible party, don't get me wrong I'm not against cleaning up the environment, but I don't believe we have ascertained the the true causes of this situation.
It appears the all knowing Gore has.

I am wondering if maybe all that cold weather up there is affecting what brain function you have. I cannot think of another reason for the lack of thought in your posts. You seem ok with being a looney left liberal hanging off the edge. I know that politically speaking that is a safe place to be = and that stance is stroked by the media and hollywood- but do you ever consider the possibility that you are wrong?
I wonder how you will react in 10 years or so when it becomes clear that you have been wrong on so much. I hope you can comfort yourself in thinking that MSNBC, CNN, ETC all said that was the way it was.

I am a little disapointed in BUSH for starting to let the GlobaL Warming FANATICS push him into going down their road, but politically speaking he probably has no choice. He has to deal with the Islamic fascists and their american useful fools like Jterrel and others, and meanginless foreign useful fools like Canadian, so I guess he is just worn out and figures (correctly) that the Islamic crazies are more dangerous at the moment then the global warming crazies.

Burmafrd, Don't expect any kind civilized banter, Al Gore has shown them the light, but just don't lower yourself to their level, don't be a Silverbear, try to understand the thought process of a Canadian, just remember don't expect a good tip

It's revealing, the way you're completely incapable of arguing politics without slinging insults at anybody who disagrees with you...
It's also an indication that you lack the intelligence to make a compelling argument without the ad hominem...
Oh, and when global warming happened all those other times, man wasn't pumping tons of pollutants into the air on a daily basis... nobody has suggested that global warming is ONLY caused by the current causative factors, that there weren't other reasons for global warming in the past... the argument is that this time, the causative factor is man, mostly...
The vast majority of reputable scientists accept this as fact, even if you and a few scientists paid by the oil companies don't recognize reality...

Sugarbear, as if you don't take cheap shots at ones intellengce while posting here, Yeah and there are alot of reputable scientists who also question it, ones that are not on oil company payrolls.
The fact is no one knows for sure, but as I have said before a clean environment is in everyones best interest.
So if the Al Gore movie proves your point, have some popcorn and enjoy.
Nobel Peace Prize for a movie, that has alot of inaccuracies through out it and he wins this prestigious award.
Yeah!!!! he deserved it.
