I have to say that watching several games a week and having seen all the teams in the NFL play this year that we have the least aggresive defense in the nfl....

we have a small athletic defensive team that should be relying on speed and attacking style play-ala the Tampa Bay Buccaneers-----but instead ZIMMER requires our small defensive lineman to play the run first by engaging the larger offensive lineman-----so in turn the quickness of our dline is negated and our weak corners have to cover for a longer period of time---...

our dline should be attacking the qb utilizing their quickness and speed to get to the qb and the rb in the backfield - instead we are getting shoved back trying to engage with olineman that outweigh them by 50 pounds each....

I have been patient with zimmer but at this point our defensive strategy makes NO SENSE AND IT IS BEING POINTED OUT WEEK AFTER WEEK-----

Take the skins defense for example - what a difference a good defensive coordinator makes - they dont have any more talent than us- their cbs are better but our dline is better---- and they are near the top of the league in defense

Parcells please make a move in the offseason to acquire the talent we need at fs , dt and cb ......and more importantly bring in a d coordinator that KNOWS HOW TO USE THE TALENT THAT HE HAS AND NOT STICK THEM IN A POSITION TO FAIL IN A SYSTEM THAT DOESNT UTilize their strengths....

The skins have more talent.

Wiley, Dixon, Tyrone, Carson, James, Reeves at nickle 6 of our 11 defensive players are way below avarage.

isnt this the same skins defense as last year- they traded champ and got springs,....they signed a bunch of defensive lineman that were average at best- this is the same team as last year the main difference is the coordinator.

You statement was they did not have better players then us on D, but they do!

my statement is that the big difference is the coordinator.

Then explain Zimmer having the number one defense with better players and now we suck.

This is a players league, we have no one to rush the passer, we have no one to stop the run and no one who can cover.

How does that make it Zimmers fault. Is this defense different then last year, yes it is and it is because we are trying to cover too many holes.

we have fast players - everyone knows we should be attacking and not standing up trying to battle larger olineman

this is ridiculous- no wonder ekuban goes to cleveland and has more sacks in 6 games than he had the last two years here- its the system

Well let's see I think Smoot is a guy a lot of people would like to have. Macus Washington is a star on the rise. Griffin and Daniels are playing better then Eaton and Carson.

You wanna see more agrression from a D that isnt exactly pro bowl talent laden? Redraw your schedule more like last year. Instead of starting off with some half way good QB's like Favre, Warner, Garcia, Brunell and Culpepper line up against Vinny, Ramsey, Blake, and Harrington. Oh, and even a Bledsoe lead offense that hadnt scored a TD on the road in like a month when we played them. Little easier to be agrressive against totallty sh*tty QB/offenses.

Or even better go out on offense and actually score some TD's early in games yourself thus putting the pressure on the other teams offense to keep up. Which owes to them making more mistakes and gives you a cushion to take some chances. As opposed to a decent team grabbing a 10-6 or 17-13 type lead against us and never having to look back because we cant score more than 2 TD's in game no matter what.

dip ****- you really are

if youve been watching weve had the lead in all our games minus this one and the minnesota game we have had the lead at half time---we had a ten point lead last week going into the fourth quarter

against the skins we had a ten point lead---

i just hope zimmer is smart enough to change his scheme this week

Thank goodness, we have a HC that is atleast smart enough to realize that Zimmer is not the problem. Zimmer is one of the best DC's in football, we just have way to many holes now, thanks largely to injury.

Loosing Pete Hunter has proven to be killer. He was actually playing pertty solid before the injury. Add to that the terrible play the last 2 weeks of Terrence Newman. The way our CB's have been playing, it is simply suicide to line up and try and blitzthe QB as much as Zimmer wants to, and the way our D is built to do.

Loosing Darren Woodson was also a killer, since he was our defensive leader, as well as the other enforcer in our secondary. When we had both Roy and Woody, WR's were scared to go across the middle at all, because if Roy didn't get you Woody would have. How many times last year did we see WR's short arm balls across the middle hearing footsteps from one of those 2 guys.

For those trying to use Ekubans sudden partial resurgence as a reason that Zimmer is a bad DC, how easy you forget that Ekubans second year in the league he had 6.5 sacks, as a situational pass rusher, starting just 2 games. Then he hurt is back. If you want a reason for his sudden resurgence, maybe it is because he is finally getting over his back injury.

You want to know why our D is so bad this year. Here is the great talent we have starting or getting signifcant playing time on our D.

Chad Eaton - picked up off the WW.
Tyrone Williams - picked up off the WW
Marelus Wiley - The CHARGERS of all teams cut this guy, that should tell you how bad he is.
Tony Dixon - Should be on the WW.
Nate Jones - a 7th round DP, who was beat out by a guy picked up off the WW.

I doesn't matter how good of a DC you are, if you don't have any talent on the FF, then your D will be in trouble. Bill Belichek himself couldn't make this D look good, it has been decimated by injury and poor play.
