I wouldn't like it because of Moss' age, injury concerns, and motivation concerns. Not to mention we'd be giving the Pats 3 first round picks. If we do make it to the Super Bowl, we're likely to play them and it would be nice to actually stop them on offense.

Wouldn't you gamble 12 mil if your chance of winning a SB is so much greater? instead of waitng 5- 6 yrs hoping to get through? Basically that's what NE did this year. It is a ridiculous notion, but many of you guys are looking at it the wrong way. Our draft picks are something like #22 and #29? I don't actually believe that NE would trade Moss for those two picks...why would they? No one...NO ONE covers Moss in single coverage...he not only still makes huge plays for them, but he opens up the field for just about anyone they want to throw underneath to.

They wouldn't trade Moss for that if he were under contract. I too believe he'll resign. Partly because they will offer him decent money, and Partly because this season with that team and those teammates has got him back on track and solidified his HOF credentials....who knows what heights he can reach in the next 4 years if he stays with them.

First off...that has to be the silliest thing I've ever seen. Why in the world would we trade both our first round picks for Moss?

I mean I like Moss as much as anyone but that is beyond stupid.

As for slapping him with the franchise tag I believe their hands are tied on that. Now I could be wrong, sometimes I get my stories mixed up, but I understood it to be that part of the deal for the Moss trade to come through, from Oakland, was that New England had to allow him to be an unrestricted free agent at years end, and that they could not franchise tag him.

So, I think, he's going to be totally free to sign with anyone he wants.
