View Full Version : Excuses from Favre/Packer fans

One of my best friends is a Packer fan. He is a passive/aggressive fan. He behaved until last weekend when we lost and they won. So today, I gave him a dose of his own medicine but here were the excuses I heard today from he and his posse.

1. The weather was cold. It's hard for Favre to throw in that cold weather so you can't blame him for those interceptions

2. The officials were giving all the calls to the Giants. (Um, I guess he missed that TD run they called back on a weak holdig call and the lack of a review on Toomer's catch which they ruled an incomplete pass. It was a catch. The ground can't cause the fumble.)

3. At least Favre and the Packers won a playoff game while Romo and the Cowboys haven't won one in 10 years. (Never mind the facts they lost to the same team that beat us and played an easier team in the first round. Had they played the Giants in the first round, they could have lost too)

4. Packers have 11 championships while Dallas has 5. So we are counting pre-merger championships. LOL

We gave Favre a Flippin gift.... no playoff game against the Cowboys.... and he blew it.

Well they gave us a gift when they lost to Chicago and we handed it right back to them.. I think Favre has had enough of the cold weather.....

good stuff

excuses are grand

unless they are legitimate, such as Patrick Crayton is a jagoffosaurus

Why is it so difficult for you to accept you just lost the game? You haven't been playing like a playoff team since Thanksgiving yet you think that your 12-1 record buys you something in the playoffs?

 Crayton drops a TD and stutter-steps his way out of another one, it's not that we lost, it's how we lost

us, beating ourselve's over the head

The difference is Cowboy fans were not making excuses about their own team. If anything, they were being more than generous in handing out criticisms of their own team. Packer fans on the other hand wanted to blame everyone but themselves.

Bah-even if Crayton hadn't dropped that pass, the Pack would have smacked us a good one today anyways.

We lost our focus and discipline over the last month, and sooner or later, we would have ran into a brick wall. We did it last week, and we paid the price.

Funny that you say that and the post right above yours iis rife with them. But you're partially right, boys fans also blame the refs.

I don't agree with this. Brett Favre was 0-9 at Texas stadium. And unlike Eli Manning, Brett Favre would have panicked under our pass rush and forced interceptions as he always does in big playoff games. Granted, we were not playing well but the Giants were playing better than both of us.

People forget the Giants are better than they look. This is the same team that almost beat the Patriots in the final game of the season.

Funny that you say that when the entire forum was blaming everyone from Romo to Wade Phillips to Crayton a week ago. I guess you just missed those hundred or so threads

The Giants did have the 3rd best record in the conference, and the weak division and schedule played a big part in Green Bay winning 13 games.
When we beat the giants the 2nd time, I felt that they very well might be the next best team in the conference.

We screwed up (thanks again Crayton) but at least we were beaten by a good team. And they proved it by taking out the Packers in Lambeau.

I hate to admit it, but if we couln't go to the big game, the Giants deserve it.

Agreed, my philosophy is not to make excuses period. We deserved to lose but then so did Green Bay yet it's funny how Packer fans are making excuses and can't admit they just got beat by a better team.
