View Full Version : Coaches who should be fired

Let's see--If I judge off the statements from the "experts" on this board, here are the coaches who should be fired this year:
--Bill Parcells--But of course. How could a guy who got the team into the playoffs last year & is dealing with a ton of injuries possibly be kept on? And because the players he's cut have just burned up the league with their new teams. And because he refused to overpay for a CB--none of whom have made a lick of difference for THEIR new teams. And because he's REBUILDING a team that has been crap for a long time. Nope, if he can't get the team into the Super Bowl in year 2--FIRE HIM!!!
--John Fox--Doesn't do anything in FA, relies on an ancient RB who gets hurt (Davis), dealing with a slew of injuries but too bad--FIRE HIM!!!
--Jeff Fisher--Yup, that young RB they have is really making all the difference, isn't he? But wait, shouldn't they go with youth & sit that ancient McNair? What could Fisher possibly be thinking--FIRE HIM!!!
--Dick Vermeil--Playoffs last year but that doesn't count for s***. FIRE HIM!!!
--Joe Gibbs--Spent the highest payroll in the league on FAs--INCLUDING A CB & A QB MANY ON THIS BOARD WANTED--& still can't get the job done. (Perhaps this team might stand as exhibit A on why you DON'T overspend on FAs?) FIRE HIM!!!
--Jon Gruden--Super Bowl but that doesn't count for s***. FIRE HIM!!!
--Brian Billick--What is he doing hiring ancient FAs like Deion Sanders when he should be developing young talent? And sticking with a young QB? FIRE HIM!!!
And oh yes, let's not forget the coaches who should have been fired last year--if we go by the standards set by the IEs on this board:
--Mike Tice--Can't get into the playoffs despite a 6-0 start.
--Andy Reid--3 years in the NFC championship game & can't get into the Super Bowl.
--Bill Cowher--5-11 season, inadequate QB.
--Marty Schottenheimer--Lousy team, lousy season.
Get a grip, people. WE ARE REBUILDING. It ain't pretty. Yes, it's discouraging right now--but better this year than next. At some point, this team has to learn to win without Woody. Better to learn the hard way while they're still rebuilding.

Simple question.
If we are rebuilding, why are we starting a bunch of washed up vets? Why arent we getting our young guys valuable game time experience?
It was Parcells plan all along to make a run with Vinny, Eddie and the crew. It backfired on him and he cost us probably 2 years.
Im pissed.

I dunno - rebuilding w/a 40 year old QB and a starting RB who is worse than Hambrick just doesn't excite me.
Too early to fire BP?
Yes.
Too early to say that he has done a miserable job in year 2?
Absolutely not.

Rebuilding? REBUILDING? Could you kindly tell me WHO the heck it is that we are "rebuilding" with? This whole "rebuilding" term has gotten overused to the point of being ridiculous.
If we were truly rebuilding, some of the players who are here WOULDN'T be here.
Rebuilding......LOL!

Obviously it takes a QB more time than any other position to become acclimated to the NFL. Why then are we not putting our future in there now? What benefit is there of playing Testeverde at this point?
Why even think of play Eddie George? What does he do for us 2 years down the line?
Wiley sucks, why is he in there?
Richie Anderson?
There are several positions we could use an influx of youth at. QB and RB being the most important two.
That is of course, if we are really rebuilding.

Do you honestly believe that in May of this year BP had a plan that QC was to be dumped and Julius would take a injury that would keep him out of the first half of the season?
I thought that the VT and EG moves were about insurance to settle down what was going to be a relatively young offence in the backfield. Remember all the talk in the spring about the new triplets - Carter/Henson, Jones and Bryant.
Let's get real here guys, what transpired to get us here was nothing anyone could have planned for. Signing Kearse, Bailey, Winfield and the rest still wouldn't have covered for our offensive losses.

K-mama, I've seen a Parcells team take a whipping like this before, and it was to a "better" team to a much lesser one than the Pack is right now.
A "manhandling" similar to today. His team survived it.
Bill has to take the flack tho, for today.
In particular for not getting Zimmer the players he needs to do his own job.
Dex was on the post game, saying this D is based on solld fundamental execution,. The margin for errors is small, in other words, for a D that is not as disruptive as some others, and lacks the size to simply beat the snot out of opponents.
Wally tried to get him to say (love his leading questions) players are trying to do each other's jobs. Dex said no, then contradicted that by mentioning missed or flubbed gap assignments. Well if they knew what those assignments were last year, why not this? Or are they trying to do the job for the new guys who don't know the assignments. Which would be inexcusable from a coaching standpoint - not knowing what to do this late in the season.
Not being able to do it, fast enough or good enough is another story.
Either way, it falls on our Bill. :p
He's man enough to take it.

i agree that Henson should be playing but as for George i have no problem with him playing. When Jones come back he will get his chance. Wiley has been sharing time with Coleman and Thorton, so when fans say the young players are not getting playing time. In fact they are wrong. There's a reason why our secondary sucks. Because Nate Jones Reeves and Frazier our playing.

The "washed-up vets" were not even intended to be starters this year. Vinny was supposed to back up Q & mentor Henson. And tell me anyone expected that Julius Jones was going down. Eddie was supposed to be short-burst running to supplement JuJo. Key has done a good job. Yes, Wiley has been disappointing--but ironically that was a signing that many liked.

There are an awful lot of people on this board that believe Vinny was brought in to start, same for EG. In fact EG WAS starting before JJ got hurt.

That's a big assumption Sarge. EG was starting because Jones had a ribs injury during preseason.

Vinny was brought in to start. Period. Parcells knew Carter would pout and cry himself out of a job. I'm sure Parcells was shocked he made it till the fourth day of camp.

You make my point and that is, everyone is assuming who the starter(s) were going to be when it comes to the QB and RB.

I would get Crayton back in here for one. Now especially. I don't see why we don't get Lee in the game more. I don't know why our Defense looks like a shell of itself from last year other than the fact that they completly blew it in FA when there were some good CBs out there. I also don't know why BP thinks that guys with walkers are the teams future.

If not, there's still a few openings left in GROZ.
Personally, I'm about to start GROPJr.

I love you optimisim, some times it really drawes me back off of the edge of the building.
But BP might be able to take it. But that is not good enough. This team does not have the players even if Vince Lombardi him self was the coach to be a good team.
We have missed some many opprotunities to better our self, even in a 2 year plan.
I love BP as a coach but I hate him as a GM. If BP truly was a leader and reconized what was not working he would realize this and bring in a guy like Ron Wolf. The same thing can be said about Gibbs, just because a guy can coach does not mean he can judge talent.
Maybe we got spolied with Jimmy who may of been able to do both, but even Jimmy if you minus the HW trade how well would he of done the job.
We have regressed from a talent perspective this year, could all the draft picks come on next year? Sure they could, but is there anyone on this board who really really felt we had more talent this year.
BP as a GM is a mistake.
MR. Wolf plus relocate to Irving!

BFinDC, brace youtself.
A beating like we took today means Bill even more becomes a GM.
Bigger players, he can say, is what he needs to win.

I think Bill also would have included Carter, Julius Jones and Antonio Bryant. The BP crew was alot larger in the offseason than what you are saying now.
He certainly didn't think that Jones was going to get hurt in the first game. He also didn't expect to trade Bryant. If so, why didn't he pull the trigger with the towel throwing incident. As for Carter, that's was jsut as unexpected.
I'm confident that BP didn't orchestrate those moves in advance.

I guess we better add Mike Holmgren to the coaches who have to be fired. They've now lost 3 in a row too.
Did anyone look at the other scores today? Most of them don't make any sense--& don't make our position any worse. (KC gets 56 points?!?!?!)

Thanks Kittymama, your intellegence is like a breath of fresh air.
To all the other tauntram throwing 12 yr olds on this board... we arent playing Henson because they dont want to do to him what they did to Hutch. You forget already ?
There are very few moves the cowboys have made this year that were wrong... pls list the moves that made this team miss the Superbowl this year?
Releasing Jamar? I havent seen him lighting it up lately.
Releasing Willie? Fat *** is suspended
Not signing Winfield? He gets burnt every weekend.
Not signing Brunell? Not signing Collins? look at thier teams records morons.
Go get a big drink from the common sense pool before you post your next tantrum, thanks
