I think he's projected as a 1st rounder by many so-called experts . . . .
I guess he'd translate to a 3-4 end. Not sure if we take one that high.

I think there's zero chance we draft him.

If we're looking to draft a 3-4 DE in this year's draft, the one to get IMO is Trevor Laws from Notre Dame.

We have 50 3-4 DE's, find us a NT that can take on 3 blockers:D

If Spears is indeed traded, and someone likes Canty enough to sign him to an offer sheet then I could see us taking a DE. At NT, the guys I really like are Red Bryant, Ahtyba Rubin, Frank Okam, Jason Shirley, and Frank Morton.

I wonder if Bigg ever considered playing defense and offense. ;)

If someone signs Canty you can be sure that Spears will not be traded. However, I don't think that scenerio is going to be realistic anyway cause no one is going to give us a 1 and a 3 for Canty so he isn't going anywhere.
I don't see much chance of this guy getting drafted by us.

I would love for us to get a true overpowering NT in this draft. I like Rat but he is more of a DE and isn't big enough to clog the middle like a NT should. He can play the position but his skill is more quickness to rush the passer up the middle than it is power to shut down the middle and collapse the pocket.
I have never seen Balmer play so I am not advocating we pick him, but we should always be looking for upgrades along the DL. If our scouts think he or someone else is better than what we already have along the DL, I personally would like to see us pick him. The NYG showed what a dominate DL can get you.

Nobody wants Brittnie Spears and Canty is staying put;)

I'd rank the possible DEs:
1- Campbell
2- Balmer
3- Laws
I think he could be a better spears, but not much better. He might be better against the run, but I doubt he puts up much better sack #s.

I can't see us getting this guy. very little chance cause I really don't think we're going to go into the draft believing we need another DT unless, of course, Dallas lets Fergie go.

I think balmer plays DE in Dallas if drafted.

Possibly, possibly. I didn't even really consider him at DE.
