Losing sure do make folks angry! I won't even read this board if we lose 2 or 3 more games. Even the Red Sox fans are not this nasty. To listen to most of you people the end of the world is coming. If we got rid of all our "poor" players as the people on this forum paint them, we would have to cancel the remainder of the season......maybe not such a bad idea....look at the happiness it would spread :D

2-4 start. 3 losses in a row. The team absolutely fell apart last week in the 3rd loss. I hate chicken littles as well but I think it's time to take a look around, because pieces of the sky have fallen. The season is probably over brother. :(

No no...these fans sit calmly, sip their tea..and clap politely even in the middle of watching Green run for a 90 yard TD..."Oh nutz...look a guy is running for a 90 yard TD...but look at how our players are chasing him...wow, that's a cause for optimism"

NOT.

Too many people have their self-identity tied up in pro sports teams.

no fan likes to see their team get batchslapped.

Gotta love the "I'm sick of the whining" threads. It seems like we get just as many of those threads as we get from fans who claim the sky is falling. Who cares. If something bothers you then stop reading and leave. If the forum gets lame then leave that's what I do. Instead of arguing with people, I preserved my sanity and time by taking a sabatical. Asking fans to curb their opinions is pointless.

Yeah...and? What's your point? That's what makes sports great especially for those of us who are already established in our careers and family life. Sundays is what we have to live for. Sports would not be fun to watch if I didn't have my identity associated with my team. Otherwise, I might as well sip tea, have classical music playing in the background and have the television on mute as I admire the spirited contest between two teams with helmets. Sorry but a real fan is one who gets depressed after a loss and is elated after a win.

if you are incapable of moments of living vicariously thru sports then i feel SORRY for you. because you can't know the true JOY of sports fandom unless you are capable of experiencing the bitter sense of LOSS. for those of you who saw lance armstrong as "just another guy on a bike" or see curt schilling as a guy who is "clinically insane" for risking his body to help his team to a title... quit now. you make no emotional investment - you're just marking time. you are NOT a fan.

Sorry, I saw the title of the thread and was shocked to find out that my girlfriend was posting here......then I remembered that she doesn't like football at all.
