Some agents advise their clients not to do much at the combines when they feel the combines can only hurt their draft position. McFadden is looked at as a top 5 pick combines could do nothing but hurt him.

Well, it appears there is a chance McFadden will be on the board long enough for Jones to get him.

McFadden hasn't decided whether to run or not. DMN's updated blog entries:

Apparently, Timmy Tabloid wasn't listening when I was on the phone with him this morning. Maybe he was too wrapped in the latest issue of OK! magazine or trolling perezhilton.com or something.

Whatever the case may be, Darren McFadden did not say he would not run at the combine. He said, in fact, that he wants to.

But he says he simply hasn't decided yet on whether that's best yet or not.

Odd how that phase just came to you out of nowhere. It's as if you've heard something similar to it a few times before.

exactly. If he skips out I really don't see it hurting him, at all. Now if he goes in and has a poor combine...well then he might slip some. So I can see why he'd seriously think about not participating.

They told AD not to run...but he went against what was advised because he had nothing to hide. DMAC should participate and prove what we think we know. Not saying he is hiding anything, but I like it when they want to compete against other athletes.

I hope he runs.

I hope he runs a 4.3 40.

It will drive his price right up......to the point where Jerry will not want to trade up because of the cost.

Great defense. That didn't come off as really weak or anything, at all.

I was refering to:

Scouting Combine and has not decided if he will participate in any physical activities.

What I'm saying is avoiding all of the combines activities should throw up a red flag that something could be wrong.

Didn't Russell skip most of, or all, the activities last year? I guess it really killed him when he was signing that huge deal.

People skip these things every year. There is always a top guy or two that doesn't participate in the combine and instead goes with private workouts at their school.

You go to the combine to improve your position, and McFadden is already, most likely, going top 5.... And that top 5 is going to be dictated by need, not best player available...

I would like to see him run in the 40 but as I said players will often listen to their agents in these matters. DMAC is not going to help his draft status running 3 40 yard dash it is just not going to boost him higher than where he is right now it can only hurt him should he go out and put up a bad time. I'm sure he will be there for the interview process where in his case given some off the field incidents will be the bigger key for him and those who may be thinking of drafting him.

No, it shouldn't.

And it won't hurt if he does well in his private workouts.
