It wasnt nearly as good as i thought it would be, could of been put together much better. But, the message should be clear, we need to get our act together. Get a democrat in office, other countries are watching what we do and if we dont step forward they dont either.

So the underlying message of the show was, "vote for a democrat or the rest of the world won't like us"?

Watched a few seconds. Seemed like propaganda.
propaganda is used (for example during war) to rial up the country and great nationalism etc. This was used to educate the ornery public that refuse to look past the east and west coast of america.

Propaganda has many applications beyond wartime rhetoric. Virtually every political or social message utilizes propaganda; the quality and veracity of the message can be found in the extent to which it relies on propaganda.

The Widipedia has a pretty good section on propaganda, and close reading of it would be useful for anyone interested. Helps to make clear some of the styles of argument that you run across on occaision. Present company excepted, of course..... :D

I didn't see this show, but I did see something along those lines about a looming global catastrophe.
It was called "28 Days Later" and it provided a pretty stark look at the future.
I hope, if elected, President Obama will consider doing something about heading off this potential crisis.

I watched a show about one day the sun like any star will burn out, you think the Liberals can do something about that? :laugh2:

Don't laugh.
There's at least as much scientific evidence that a zombie infestation could occur as there is that the earth's temperature is going to rise by freaking 10 degrees (aka the 6 degrees Celsius postulated by the documentary) over the next 100 years!
Just consider:

We only need an increase of one or two degrees to screw things up royally though. No matter what cause.....

So are you saying that if next year was one degree warmer, on average, than this year, we'd all be in serious trouble?

Well it would not be the first time that the US government did experiments on Americans with mixed results.

So I can count on you to join me in my "anti-zombie" movement?
Our slogan is:
"The only good zombie is a dead zombie. Oh, wait... doh!"
I'll be working on a logo over the weekend.

You are obviously a conservative, very religious. But if i were to guess, not a scientist. Yet you know everything. I love the guy shoveling snow, if you knew anything about global warming, you would know this was predicted. MOre moisture in the air, the more snow. But you dont care, no we will all be saved. Lets trash our planet and move on. I hope you dont have kids, if so i am sorry for them that you do not care about there future.

I thought we were already in global warming and that these last few years were supposed to be the hottest.
So they figured, based on this that next year, because of course global warming is still going on, that next year, is it!
I mean like it's all over? Because certainly, since global warming is real, it stands to reason that next year will be hotter and thus at least 1 or 2 degrees hotter which means the end of the world.
OMG, it's the end of the world.
:lmao2:
You guys are a trip.
I hope we can at least get to 2009 so we can see the new stadium.
OK everyone, no farting!

You've got me pegged alright! Conservative and religious... two strikes against me... my knuckles must be dragging against the ground and I couldn't possibly understand a concept as complex as global warming.
You're also right in guessing that I'm not a scientist... although I was an environmental studies minor in college, where, coincidentally, I ran into quite a few well-meaning liberals who did indeed think "they knew everything."
Mostly they knew to not let the truth get in the way of a good cause. Once you buy into that, then you can excuse any claim, even if it's baseless speculation or a lie... like making a "documentary" that scares people into thinking the planet will get 10 degrees warmer this century... like saying that a one degree shift in temperature will doom us all... like saying we know, for a fact, that global warming is man-made... like saying that every temperature shift (warmer or colder) is a bye-product of global warming.
And God-forbid that anyone call any of this into question or question the motives of those advancing this agenda. If you do, then you must be advocating "trashing the planet" and you're unworthy of having children. What a progressive, open-minded and tolerant world view you possess. :D
By the way, if you're going to challenge someone's intelligence, don't do it in a post that is fraught with typographical and grammatical errors... it undermines your position.

I didn't ascribe any specific views to you personally, which is obvious if you read what I wrote carefully. But I'm not surprised the nuance escaped you. You are far more concerned with lowering yourself to personal attacks.

Here is something that I find funny.
Liberal: It hasn't been this hot since the 1200's!!!!! OHNOES!!!!! GLOBAL WARMING WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!!!!
Me: Umm....so what was happening in the 1200's that made the earth so hot?
Liberal: DON'T YOU SEE MAN, WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE BECAUSE OF GLOBAL WARMING!!!!!11!!!!1!!!1ELEVENELEVENONEONEONE
ME: Umm...right...
The earth is going to change temps over time, we have been watching it for a blink of the eye when you consider how long the earth has been here. To claim something like climate change is irresponsible. While I am all for having a clean enviroment, we have to understand that the earth is in a constant state of change. Coral reefs do die off I am sure there have been millions of them in the past that have died and there will be many more in the future that will die. The earth will continue to change and until the crust hardens it will keep changing. The one thing that humanity has going for it, is that we can adapt and change to live in any enviroment. NYC will not be there forever. Get used to the idea.
