Well unlike most of the receivers this board is full of people talking about (Roy, Fitz, Walker), Moss is actually on the market. This would be the most realisitc conversation regarding a WR we've had in a while.
Will this be the "wow" we've been waiting to hear?
Owens, Moss, Witten, Crayton, Barber, Romo, McFadden..
This would be a dream.

I don't really see him coming to Dallas.
If Moss is smart (?), he should re-sign with the Pats.
He's got a great QB throwing him the ball, he's on a high quality team with a chance at winning a ring, and he's the sole number 1 WR. In Dallas, Moss and TO co-existing with each wanting the ball more than the other, IMO, would be a challenge.

I don't see it either, I'm just saying he's on the market so it's no more ridiculous than those threads about trading for Roy Williams.

That said, I really hope he doesn't end up in the NFC East.

Challenge? Yeah, to opossing DBs. Good lord what a combo that would be.
By the way, who caught the most balls for the Pats last year? Hint...it wasn't Moss.

I must admit I agree. But what if they could? Who here thought TO would act as he has the passed two seasons. How much do they both want a ring?
How would you stop TO, Moss, Witten, Barber with Romo at the helm.
I love this part of the season. It's all a dream.

If it does Romo better learn to throw two balls at once because neither Moss or TO will be happy if he isn't getting the ball thrown to him. Hell, TO already whines if he's not thrown the ball every down. :D

No way this happens. Moss was in the best situation last season. The pats won super bowls before moss, so he had no choice but to conform. He'd run circles around phillips. No coach could keep these two egos in check. Jerry is smart to realize oil and water don't mix.

The Patriots have elected not to place the franchise tag on Randy Moss.
It's a surprising development, although it probably doesn't mean anything. By rule, the Patriots couldn't announce a new contract with Moss until the new league year starts on February 29. Speculation around Boston is that the two sides may have reached a long-term agreement already, but that can't be verified.

Dalllas should sign Randy Moss. Given the history, it's only destiny that Moss becomes a Cowboy. It would also be interesting to finally have him and Greg Ellis on the same team, given that Ellis was chosen over Randy. I mean, just imagine how much fun it will be to hear Ellis chatter about his uncertainties with Moss around! :lmao:

From Mike Florio's Sporting Blog:
7. Jerry Jones will make a big splash
With another embarrassing and early exit from the playoffs and a new stadium on the horizon, Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones will feel compelled to make a big splash this offseason. The most popular speculation is he'll trade his two first-round picks and running back Marion Barber (a restricted free agent) to the Miami Dolphins for the No. 1-overall selection in the NFL Draft. Jones then could select Arkansas running back Darren McFadden.
That's not the only power play Jones might make. With wide receiver Randy Moss hitting the open market Feb. 29 -- unless the Patriots use the franchise tag on him -- hauling in the single-season touchdown receptions leader would create a compelling Texas tandem of Terrell Owens and Moss.
There is only one football, though, and that could create a problem. Likewise, Jones would have to give Owens, who is entering the final year of his contract, a big raise to ensure there would be no locker-room rivalry.
Regardless of whether he acquires McFadden, Moss or someone else, count on one thing: Jones will do something big aimed at making his team better.

Romo will be traded if he can't win a superbowl with this combination.

They did lose, yes, but comparing the combination of Donte, Moss, and Welker to a combination that puts Moss and Owens on the field at the same time simply isn't possible.
No matter who else dallas throws out there the combination of Moss and Owens is better than what the Patriots had.
Not advocating the idea of bringing in Moss, just saying.

It has nothing to do with baggage. Moss and Owens egos would never be able to co-exist. Moss has shown no respect for Owens in past years and Owens, even tho he's been somewhat complimentary of Moss, doesnt exactly seem like he wants to be on the same team with him. Plus, if Moss were to come to Dallas, his contract would be staggering and you know Owens would be looking to reconstruct the last year of his deal. And once one starts having two big games in a row while the other cant get the ball, true colors will start to show. Owens was basically taking all the credit for Witten's performance in Detroit(tho not entirely untrue), just imagine what he'll do to someone he's not all that fond of.
And amidst all of this, as much as people wanna call Moss the best WR in the league right now, he's a very one dimensional receiver and Romo doesnt have the arm to get the ball to him consistently when all he does is run vertically 95% of the time to try and outrun coverage. He only runs slants and hits the middle of the field late in the game when he hasnt been a factor do to deep coverage (ex. Colts game/the SB).

Three things really jump out at me.
How many of you guys see no possibility of this happening.
How many of you really dont want to see it happen.
That not one of you could considered the upside.
Not one of you thought having both 2007 All Pro starting WR's on the same offense was a good thing. This is mind blowing.
Dont you people see how complimentary their skills sets are?
Owens is a beast. 6-3 220 plus. Strong and fast. Although he can play outside the numbers downfield, his really excels inside the numbers, within 5 to 10 yards of the LOS where his run after the catch and tackle breaking ability come into play. His size to speed ratio, ability to break press coverage and play close to the LOS is second to none.
Moss at 6-4 200 is the exact opposite. He will go over the middle and take the hit when he needs to. But his real game is outside the numbers downfield. I've never seen a WR with anything close to Moss's downfield ball skills and catching radius. His speed, quickness and ability to oncover downfield is second to none.
With Moss our 2008 offense could be as good as the 2007 Patriots.
Just gonna cut and paste this in each Moss thread til we sign him!

A TO-Moss duo would be unstoppable...in Madden 09. In the real world, where you have to factor egos and personalities into the equation it's a different story.
We're talking about two of the biggest prima donnas in all of pro sports. The idea that they could somehow coexist is pure fantasy.

While I'm in total agreement with everyone who says there is no chance of this, cause there simply isn't, I do not agree with Panch on the idea that Romo doesn't have the arm strength to hit Moss in stride on 40 and 50 yard routes. He hit T.O. on a few of them just this year (second Giants game and the first Washington game) and he managed to have enough arm to be able to overthrow T.O. (Second Philly game) on a streak down the right sideline.
So, no, there is nothing wrong with his arm. If he has a clean pocket, and can step up into the throw (Like Brady was allowed) then he'd have zero issue hitting Moss.
But I agree with everything else. There is no way these two (Owens and Moss) can play on the same team.

Well it's a fun comparison but the Patriots aren't exactly the main rival of the Cowboys, and especially not the way the Niners were in the 90's.
