Didn't see this posted, so apologies if it is a re-post.

SI.com is reporting the Iggles are close to releasing DE Jevon Kearse (http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/41013). I know he had injury concerns, but, like his nickname suggests, he is a freak. Wouldn't mind signing him to a 1-year contract with an option year or two. If he's looking to re-immerge, he might do it. Also, his agent is Drew Rosenhaus, same agent for T.O. and Zach Thomas.

Thoughts?

Don't see it. He'd have to be moved to OLB anyway and learn a new position, IMO (on our team).

Wake me up when Kearse finally pushes them to a championship as all the iggles fans claimed years ago when he signed.

Definitely pass.

He isn't anything like Thomas, whose injuries haven't kept him from playing at a high level when he suits up. Kearse has been bad on the field for some time now.

Pass. He was not one time "The Freak" after he left Tennessee. I'm not interested, in the least, in Kearse.

Great talent, great ability, leadership and heart, but a body that just couldn't keep up.

He's the kind of guy you feel bad for, unlike say Ricky Williams who throws his talent away for a joint.

2-3 years ago I'd have jumped at a chance to have him in Dallas, but now, who knows what kind of shape his body is in.

It got cut short, it is now the No-Sack Exchange with McNabb as the biggest No-Sacker on the team.

Could the Jones family convince Jevon Kearse that he will increase the chances of the Cowboys possibly getting some superbowl rings for a cheap price, perhaps 2 mil w/ an mutiple year option according what he do this season at OLB (he's athletic and he can run) Cowboys have some of the best people that help players over come injuries (i.e. Marc Columbo (haven't been hurt for two or more years now) Chris Canty (he's been heathly even though his injury prone status in college.))

I believe this would be even more impact on pass-rush, which will be deeply needed.

Who? The freak hasn't been a factor since the Titans lost the super bowl:laugh2:

And that's not a bad thing, that might just put his price to an affordable level, and I believe he knows he can be a factor in Cowboys success at winning superbowls...

I think he is overated, injury prone, and If we signed him he would need to be able to play standing up and we have enough players who can allready do that.

He was injured both of those 2-3 years ago. If I remember right.........I don't think he completed a season for the eagles. When he was healthy after all the injury "years" he was benched.
