third of the league is interested in WR Javon Walker.
At least 10 teams, including all four NFC East clubs, have been in contact with Walker. The 49ers, Bills, Bucs, Panthers, Raiders, and Vikings are also interested, but no visits have been scheduled yet.

I saw where Bryant Johnson is visiting Buffalo, I think he would make a nice #2 WR.

I'd take a JWalker that passes a physical over BJohnson. IMO BJohnson had plenty of opportunities to do more in Zona, but didn't

Why 3SS80?

Walker when healthy has been a big time WR in the NFL, people forget before injury he was a 1,200 to 1,300 receiver with 9 TD's. Johnson was chosen in the 1st round from Penn State and hasn't put up big numbers his entire career. I'd like the threesome of T.O. Walker and Glenn with Crayton coming off the bench and handling the dirty work.

If the Cowboys sign Walker, Glenn is gone.

No... they need Glenn's one good leg to make ONE complete WR between the two of them... Glenn stays.

Just because Shannahan started a rumor that in 4-5 years from now Walker MIGHT need microfracture surgery doesn't necessarily mean it's going to happen.

I haven't forgotten anything, where Walker is concerned. Many of the older posters know that I have been a big fan of Walker for a long time. I really wanted us to trade for him when he was in GB. Now, I worry about his health. If he is healthy, I think he could be a real good WR. Having said that, Walker has only started 39 games in 5 seasons. When he's healthy, yeah, he's real good. But in 05, he played only 1 game. In 06, he played all 16 games and he had a an OK season with 69 catches, 1084 yards, 8 TDs, 15.7 YPC. Last year, he only started 6 games and played in 8. His numbers were pretty horrible. Two injuries in the last 3 years.

Johnson, you can say that he hasn't put up numbers but lets be honest here. He's playing Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Bolden. I mean, you can make the arguement that if T.O. were playing for Az., he might not start either. Johnson might not be better then Fitz or Bolden but thats not really saying much. Those are two of the top 5 or 6 WRs in the NFL. Certainly, I'd say both are top 10 at least. When Johnson got opportunities in Az, he produced. He's big, he's fast, he's quick and he runs good routes. I think Johnson is a guy who will surprise a lot of people. I also think he's a guy who you might be able to sign more reasonably then maybe Walker.

I don't know. I think I'd rather have Johnson. He's not a health risk and that's a big thing when you have to give up the kind of contract that it's going to take to sign one of these guys.

While i do agree that when healthy Javon is a great WR, i would not so quickly harsh on Bryant Johnson. let's remember that he has been playing with Fitz & Boldin in Arizona, and he wasn't going to be more than a #3, and yet he still consistently was a 40-50 receptions/year player

Now am i saying that i would rather have him over a healthy Javon, no, but we shouldn't be too quick to judge on Johnson.

If there is a bidding war going on, we should bow out. If Walker wants to come and play on a "tank type of deal", then he is more than welcome.

However, if the dude is looking to cash in and wants some guarenteed money, I say no thanks. I have little to no faith in his knee, just like Gleen. Noway I sink any money into Walker without him proving to me this year his knee is not an issue.

Bidding war = overpay

If Javon freaking Walker is the best we can do for a vet in free agency, we might as well just focus on the draft and grab one in the 1st round.

When you're the 3rd receiver and can't put up 3rd receiver numbers equal to or better than Patrick Crayton then something's wrong, and that's not a slight at P. Crayton... Bryant Johnson, by most accounts, has better physical skills than Crayton, yet hasn't posted better overall numbers. If that's the case just leave Crayton at 2nd receiver spot.

Two things Dallas has that the others don't?

Ray Sherman and Tony Romo.

Sherman his coach in GB and Romo the closest thing he'll ever get to Favre.:D

AGREED!!!!! You know, this board is right like it was back when TO was coming....news was being reported, half the board denied it would happen and downplayed TO's talents and sure enough he was signed.

Well, he actually has posted better numbers then Crayton, as a third WR. I mean honestly, if you have Bolding and Fitz playing, who are you going to throw it to?

BJohnson actually has started like 8 games in each of his seasons but 1 I believe cause the Boldin/Fitz tandem misses games pretty often.

Still when one of them is out Warner & Leinart throw to Fitz and Boldin 80% of the time. Because when one of them is out, the other guy has like 12 catches in the game.

but maybe Johnson just needs a change of scenery, it does get hot here in the desert :D

True, but since he's been in Az, that offense has never been good. As a rookie, in 03, he had Jeff Blake as his QB. In 04, he had Josh McCown. In 05, he had McCown/Warner. In 06, he had Leinart/Warner. Last year, Warner again.

I mean, that's not a great cast of QBs throwing the ball. Especially when your opportunities are limited to start with.

Why in gawd's name would the Broncos let him go if he were healthy.....this will backfire on the team that signs him.

Even if we sign Walker cutting Glenn would be pointless. First off what if he is healthy enough to play next year plus it's not like he make 5 mill a season I think me makes like 1.6 next year so we might as well take him to camp and see what he's got

Well, Boldin and Fitzgerald need to get their touches, that limits how much he could do...
