LOL! Y'all need to visit The Houston Texans Message board on their Official Site for some good Comedy! :lmao2: They actually think that Reeves has potential to be a good Starting CB and Roy Williams playing Safety was the Reason Reeves was so bad!
Here are some comments from that board:
" Look at all the penalties they had for one thing. The Cowboys are an undisciplined team who lost as a team IMO. BTW Reeves biggets problem was the safety he had helping him ***cough Roy Williams cough cough*** "
" I think he is a sleeper and could very well be a hugh pickup for us. Why you ask?
1 - He was drafted in a respectable position so he has talent to play.
2 - He was a young starter in the NFL and has good experience, I dont care what you say that says alot.
3 - He played for the Cowboys and Tuna, started and was on an island with them shouldering alot.
4 - While with the Cowboys he had no help period. Their safeties Roy Wiliams suck *** in the worst way.
5 - He has got to be excited to come to a promising growing team and getting another opportunity. I think with our coaches he can still learn and play even better.
6 - He instantly is better then any other options currently on the team as we are very thin and need depth in a bad way.
I think he will be just fine and its players like this if they step up and do better then expected then the team will excell past its expectations!
10 - 6, 2008 and a playoff berth. "
" it's funny how the corner always gets blamed for the safeties mistakes...remember reeves always had safety help from the worst safety in the game roy williams"
" That my friend is a veeeeery interesting point. I would love to know how many times Reeves actually got beat to how many times Roy Williams blew his coverage. I would bet on the latter...."
LOL! What LOSERS! There is more where that came from just visit their board! Here is a link to that thread:

In recent years we've been very good about keeping our in house talent locked up and on our team. I can't really think of one guy that we let walk as a FA and then just tore it up with his new team. When players aren't good we cut our ties with them. Jacques Reeves was given a 5 year 20 million dollar contract, we gave Anthony Henry a 7 year 25 million dollar deal. Reeves received 8 million guaranteed and Henry received 10 million. Henry, when healthy, is a legitimate starter, Reeves is not.
Free Agency never ceases to amaze me with the horrible deals that go down.

A few years ago, Reeves looked like a solid player. His play definitely fell off last year.
Maybe he needs a new uniform on, new mindset.
Best of luck to him. Hope he does well.
However, he is in no way worth that money.

just heard here John McClain and Andre Ware on the way home from work here in houston and it was great. Ware thinks that Reeves is a "potential homerun" of a signing and that getting out of Dallas will make him better. Said he had the skills and speed you can't coach and he will get the coaching in houston. Said that the Texans had alot of time to scout FAs and they must have seen something in Reeves that was significant. Pure gold.

The media is nothing but homers in Houston, only in Houston could Andre Ware have a job on the radio.

If they had ever watched a game in which Reeves played extensively, they would realize that often, when our opponent needed to convert on 3rd down, they simply threw at Reeves.
They've gotten used to Dunta Robinson, so I have to think that they are going to be sorely disappointed with Reeves.

Reading that thread, it seems like the majority of the fans posting there either hate the signing or are saying "let's hope the change of scene works for him."

I think we are being to hard on Reeves just because his number one boyscout is such an obnoxious pain in the butt.
I think Reeves has the physical talent to make it as a number 3, and maybe one day, number 2 guy in this league.
I wish him the best of Luck ....... and pray that his only groupie follows him to Houston.

He definitely isn't worth 4 million dollars a year. I don't think the Cowboys would have kept him for 2 million a year. They sure didn't trust him in man coverage last year, thats a huge red flag.

Houston is the only team that would pay a 3rd stringer 20 million.

Although roy Williams is terrible out there, We cant deny that He had little to do with Reeves getting beat like a punching bag.

Roy has his problems, but I think he started getting blamed for team screw-ups with Reeves playing too soft of a zone and James not getting deep enough drops to close the passing lanes. It definitely hurt the team that all three were on the strong side of the defense. That was just a tempting target for opposing teams.

Yep...I keep :horse: about the one play I saw from Reeves that convinced me it was time for him to go..
Playoff game...Giants 40 second drive that KILLED the Cowboys...WR makes the catch near the sideline....is obviously going out of bounds as ANY wr would in that situation...and Reeves needlessly facemasked him for 15 yards...which was the worst play of the worst drive against this team. And that entire drive was about Reeves...and that play epitomized what Reeves was about.

Exactly! If there are some Texans fans who honestly believe he is worth 3 years for 20 million they are going to be sorely dissapointed this upcoming year.

Texans fans are by nature delusional. A few years back they convinced themselves that Charlie Casserly had fleeced the Raiders by sending them a couple of second round picks for former 1st rd cb Philip Buchanan. Texans fans told anyone who would listen that all P-Buc needed was to be coached up by Capers and his staff and he would become a shutdown corner.
Buchanan started all of two games before being benched.
The media is nothing but homers in Houston, only in Houston could Andre Ware have a job on the radio.
Hey, now. That's "Heisman Trophy winner Andre Ware" to you.

he is not worth a 3 yr deal for 20 mil
and he did'nt get one either. he signed a 5 yr deal for 20 mil,
4 mil a year is about the market for a decent cb and reeves is better than some here seem to think. one yr as a starter, great spead, even as a nickle cb he is not over paid. check out the contracts that avg players are getting. 4 mil a year is about what most thought he would get

1 - He was drafted in a respectable position so he has talent to play.
A seventh round choice is a "respectable" position? Its one step from the bottom of the food chain.
The fact they are excited about this signing truly indicates their lack of perception. That makes them perfect to accept the losing tradition that franchise has established.

Henry when healthy...that's the main concern with me.
Henry has not shown he can stay healthy.
I don't want to go into next season knowing that if Henry goes down we do not have any options at cb.
It looks like we will be getting a young cb in the draft and possibly FA cb off the discount rack.
To me Henry has let us down the last couple of years. It's like Parcells use to say...I can't keep players who don't play. If you are a football player you play when it's time to play football.
Right now I would not be opposed to getting 2 cb's in the first round.
Something like Jenkins and Cason. We are really thin at cb right now.
