• Pick No. 20: Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Aqib Talib, CB, Kansas

Pro analysis: After taking DE Gaines Adams last year, Jon Gruden takes another defensive player in the first round in Talib. His off-field issues — he's an admitted marijuana user — are well-documented. But Talib's talent is also well-documented. And with Brian Kelly gone (Detroit) and Ronde Barber nearing the end of the line, this was certainly a need pick for Tampa Bay. Expect Barber to mentor Talib immediately, on the practice field and in the locker room.

College analysis: Playmaker would be the best word to describe Aqib Talib. The Kansas star made his living as a cornerback, intercepting 13 passes in his three years, but he also was a threat to score with the ball in his hands. He played wide receiver as a junior and delivered four touchdown catches as the Jayhawks won 12 games and reached Orange Bowl. The only knock on Talib is that he may try too hard to make plays. That gambling style often can leave him burned by opposing receivers.
