Yes, finally! I am having my kidney transplant on June 5th in Lubbock, Texas. One of my best friends since 3rd grade is generous enough to give me the gift of life. :starspin

I don't know you here, dudette, but wanted to say congrats and best of luck to you. Hope, too, you'll keep us apprised of your progress post op. I've seen ppl do things they never dreamed of after a successful transplant.:)

Thank everyone for your well wishes. I only have 16 dialysis days left..... 35 regular days.

I cannot thank my friend enough. We have been friends since 3rd grade. She indeed is a very special person.

Yes, I will have access to the net while I am in the hospital (I don't know about ICU, but I will only be in ICU for 24 hours). I will give yall an update as soon as I can. I will be in the hospital for 5 days, then I go to a hotel for 2 weeks. Both hospital and hotel have Wi-Fi :) Thank the Lord!!!!

Again, thanks for all your well wishes!

Hey, that sounds like a plan... methinks your friendly local Bear will forego the pleasure of food that day as well, as a gesture of solidarity...

Thank you both so much!

Just a way of lettin' you know you're not alone... I can afford to miss a coupla meals, anyway... and as a diabetic, perhaps some day I'll be walking where you are now, so maybe this is some good karma for me...

A lot of us care, and I'll prove it by goin' hungry on the 5th... you hang tough, and come out the other side...

It won't be long now... you must be excited, and scared out of your mind... try to focus on the former... think about how much better your life will be with a healthy kidney...

OK, that's enough pep talk for now... :D

It is so great to have the support. Thank you all. Well, as of today I have 26 days and 11 dialysis days left.

Yes, I am scared and excited at the same time. I am just praying for a successful surgery. I am hoping that kidney will just start right up. I just started dialysis in September, and my kidney function has gone WAY down. Back then, between treatments I would gain maybe 1 kilo (2.2lbs) between treatments... now I gain 3 - 3.5 kilos (6.6 lbs - 7.7 lbs) between treatments. That is just from Monday to Wednesday!!! I am soooo ready to have a working kidney. I am looking forward to going back to work in August. I miss working with my kidos.

Thank goodness I have had fundraisers for over a year and have saved money, my catastrophic leave ran out April 28th, so I will not get a paycheck again until Sept 28th!!! I go back to work in August, but our first check is in Sept. One of my friends is going to organize a bake sale while I am gone.

Okay, I have rambled enough..... thanks again for the support!
