It is a buyers market right now, lots of home for sale with prices dropping. Verizon (fios) is available, at least in my area (Arlington)

This is an immense area. Do some research and figure out which part of the metroplex you want to live in. That is a good way to start.

Everything is within 20-30 minutes but it is a huge sprawled out area.

You can get alot of house per square foot here.

Is Square feet bigger in Texas???

Housing market is better here than most places. Unemployment is low all around and Arlington currently enjoys a 3.8% rate.

FIOS is available in only a few small areas in the market but stay tuned as they are working hard to become more of a player.

I used to be a realtor in San Antonio and my advice is to get one to do the work for you, it's free. They get paid by the person selling the property. I'm currently using this lady's services:

Tell her The Dude from Hurst referred you.

Make a list of needs and wants, example:

3 bedrooms 2 baths 2 car garage

2000 SQ FT

brick exterior

mature trees

age of home

taxes (Oh God don't get me started)

etc

I guess I should have re-read that!!!!

I meant the square foot price here is low in most areas, you can get alot more house in DFW for x amount of dollars than you can in most large cities.

sorry about the retarded post before!
