View Full Version : PAVER: CowboysZone Paver... Let's go for a bigger paver!

Okay, my arm has been twisted and I've been talked into the paver for the forum.

Anyone who wants to donate please send me a PM with an e-mail address.

Once the money has been collected I will contact those who have donated and we will come up with what will be said on the paver. Those who donate will have a voice in what the paver says. Anyone can offer suggestions, but only those who donate will have a vote. I think that is only fair.

At first the replica will be sent to me, but I of course will turn it over to the man who pays the bills here. I will scan and post the map of where the paver is so anyone going to the new stadium can find it. Maybe we'll even have a background image of the actual paver some day.

Thanks for caring enough about the forum to want to do this.

I will not send PayPal requests until enough money has been raised to pay for it. That way if we fall short no one loses their money. As with the Football Camps, every penny will go towards the paver.

Edit:

To make it equal for all with votes, etc. Donations are $10.00 each.

So if I donate 50.00 I would get 5 votes and if I wanted to, I could vote for something like...

Cowboyzone rocks.

Brainpaint, not so much!

Right? :D

I got the confirmation of the order for my personal paver. I've got brick # 0000000423.

The 15 requests have now been sent out to the e-mail addresses you guys provided me.

Okay, now let's discuss whether we want the site to have an even bigger paver. I think we should. A couple of people wanted to donate more than the $10.00. This is the chance to do that and I have no problem giving more votes for larger donations.

Once I have the money collected we will decide what the paver is going to say.

Thanks all.

Update. I've received 22 pledges, 18 have already sent the money. 4 are pending. Several have offered to donate more than the $10.00 but I'd like to keep that for later so more people have a chance to donate.

There's still time. Deadline is October 1.

Sure hope we get enough money in soon to go for the large paver, which I think is around $300 or so. Keep that money coming in. Ha.

I can't think of anything else we could get that all Zone members who go to games in the new stadium could see.

I guess we could have a giant Cowboys Zone flag made up and mail it from member to member depending on who's attending the next game. (I'm not trying to be malicious, Romosapien9, just some sarcastic joshing.):p:

No worries.

I was just thinking we could all get together and fund a kiosk. We could pass out stickers and sell t-shirts.

Maybe there would be some copyright or rights infringement. I dunno.

I know many here aren't big Irvin fans, and maybe this quote is too serious in tone, but I like it:

How many lines are we allowed on the large pavers?

I'm thinking first line: Don't tell us it's just a game
Second line: Not to Dallas Cowboy fans
Third line: Now is our time, now is the hour

Never tell us it
is just a game.
We are The Zone.
CowboysZone

By my count that is 16 on line 1. 15 on line 2. 16 on line 3. 11 on line 4.

If we got the $375.00 paver with the logo on it, that could fit.

Don't know about you folks, but I like that.

Really like the "don't (or never) tell us it's just a game". I'd go for its inclusion in any paver we get. Would also like to see the words "Dallas Cowboys" included since the stadium when it's named won't bear the Cowboys name anywhere.

I just hate the idea of some company's name on such a new, magnificant stadium. Geez, how good the Colts allow their stadium to be named Lucas Oil; it's almost sacriligeous. Jerry's just got to come up with some happy medium which will satisfy the company buying the naming rights & Cowboy fans who just want to see the inclusion of some part of Cowboys' history or even just the words Dallas Cowboys.

Well, I thought we had enough to do this, but one of the checks that was covering the last bit to get us there bounced.

When I get home I will re-calculate how much we need. We have until October 1st, so there's no real pressure, but we may need to do the $300.00 paver with 8 lines instead of the $375.00 paver with 4 lines and the star.
