The New York Jets have attempted to strike contract extensions with pending unrestricted free agents such as defensive end Shaun Ellis, defensive tackle Jason Ferguson and right offensive tackle Kareem McKenzie, and others, and been rebuffed. The reason at least a few of the veterans have spurned the Jets offers is that they feel that Bill Parcells, their former coach in New York, will want them in Dallas and will help spur their market value. ...

no surprise there...Abraham shoudl be added to the list if he isnt franchised, and Abraham/Ferguson or Abraham/Rogers (if they artn franchised) would be my first two targets via free agency

also:

You know, when your tailback throws a better spiral than your quarterback, it's time to make a change at the [latter] position. I saw Washington on Sunday and [Mark] Brunell is just terrible. He threw for 58 yards! The pass by [tailback] Clinton Portis, for a touchdown, was better than anything Brunell threw all day. Heck, for that matter, it was probably better than all those wounded ducks Brunell has been putting up all season."

We'll gladly take Ellis and Ferguson off their hands.

From the large group pf Jets heading into FA next year, the only ones I think the 'boys should target are Abraham, Ellis, and McKenzie. Ferguson will be 31 next year, while the others will all be under 28.

Jerry and Bill better want to open up the check book. Players no longer care enough to want to come to Dallas because of our illustrious history, the star, and the spotlight that comes with being a Cowboy. Money is the catalyst.

When I read that, I wasn't at all surprised. However, I am a little concerned by it. I would like more youth - not less. I guess I shouldn't be so picky though. Right now, I just want a playmaker. I don't care if he's 100 years old.

Wouldn't those be "Bill's guys" that so many are complaining about?!

Yep, but they're all under 30, not "old Bill's guys"...

So then it's a good thing we didn't sign Dillon or Law this offseason, because they're both over 30? Since so many of those complaining about the "old" guys think we should have signed them.
