I know we are only at the half way point of the season. But what QB in the last 10 years has looked this good in his first year starting. I know that good QB's coming out of college usually play for bad teams unlike the Steelers.

But you have to be impressed with this guy.

The only guys that are in the same ball park were Warner & Pennington.

G GS Att Comp Pct Yards YPA Lg TD Int Tkld 20+ 40+ Rate
7 6 155 107 69.0 1316 8.49 58 11 5 9/60 18 5 105.2

How nice would it be to have Henson play this well, pretty sure it will not happen this year because of our total lack of running game. Something all 3 of these guys was fortunate to have.

I liked the guy during the draft, but even I didn't think he would be this good.

Parity in the NFL is an odd thing. Ask Carolina (or us). Anyone can win any ballgame on any given day.

Yeah, I dont think its fair to ask that of Henson. Remember, the best game Ben played first was against Cowboys. Since then he got really good.

He didn't look good at all when he came in against Baltimore, and didn't look that great against Miami etc. Just did enough to win games. But now he is making plays.

I doubt he would be that good without those Players around him. But it still doesn't take anything away from Ben. He will only get better in coming years.

He looks very good. But he has the supporting cast.

Still I hope he falters. I can't stand the Steelers.

They're not forcing Roth to win ball games for them. They're basically asking him to be a bus driver. Hand the ball off to Deuce and Jerome, and throw here and there. He's in the perfect situation, I'm not discrediting what he's doing because he's playing fantastic but you got to analyze there gameplan.

I think the biggest thing he's got on his side, is calmness in the pocket. Roth doesn't get happy feet, he doesn't panic he goes through his reads and BAM!! he hits Hines or Plaxico.

But the approach the Steelers are taking is the approach the Cowboys took during their glory years. Run the ball with Emmitt and sprinkle passes in from Aikman.

True, Roethlisberger isn't as seasoned as Aikman was in his prime, but I don't understand why people are trying to minimize Big Ben's game because he's just being asked to drive the bus. Heck, Aikman was asked to drive the bus.

If it's between a running game and a passing game, those not married to the WCO are always going to favor the running game. It's the more physical style of football.
