Started the season without Woody, and it is difficult to replace him. Then lost Hunter at CB!

On offense we lost one of the best blocking tight ends in football, and then lost our fastest running back,Jones. Then we lost our best receiver,Glenn.

So if we would have remained injury free (like last year) things could be entirely different.

Well LaTunaNostra, it seems I have to come to a different thread to try and get your thoughts on my earlier free agency post (an extremely thoughtful and candid post, I might add.) Now, given that you're the resident expert of the Jets and that you appear to be a Liberal (which puts you in high in this corner), how would you feel about the Cowboys approaching any or all of the following players: John Abraham, Shaun Ellis, Santana Moss. Pros and cons please!

Let's keep politics off this board, Jem - :p I didn't see your other post.

Shaun Ellis is the same type player as Greg Ellis. Abraham is the player we'd want to go after - the real talent..has also picked up his run D this year.
I think the Jets sign Ellis, and tag Abraham. He won't be happy, but neither will a team that wants him.

Moss was a rookie in 2001 - so he can't be a UFA this year. Must be a RFA, which means the Jets will tender him at two firsts. That mistake that was made with Coles - losing him to the Skins for just a first and third, not two firsts, won't be made again.

Moss is fast, but we need big and fast.

We probably don't get any of those three.

Two guys who could help us tho, both of whom I doubt NY wil be able to re-sign:

Lamont Jordan (rb) and Jason Ferguson (DT)

A stat showed up on the screen yesterday that said the Cowboys have scored on their fist possession better than any team in the NFL. That is not a product of bad coaching.

Guys, this is the same guy who led a bad team to a very respectable record last year. The problem is that team played way above their heads last year, and now they have come back down to Earth.

If the Jets franchise Abraham and sign Ellis, that's gonna lock up a tonne of money. Will they have enough left to sign Moss as well?
