One person in one place. Yeah that is the whole truth.
Sometimes I wonder how some people actually are able to function in the world when they cannot see ANY forrest except for a couple of trees.

We often think about that after some posts here...

Is it somehow going to matter to your position anyway? If it turns out that the Georgians had a deliberate plan of bombing and invasion of N. Ossetia (against the advice of the US and Condi Rice apparently), will this change anything in your view of the situation? I doubt it, so why do you even worry?

Many elements of the Russian Army are rough, undisciplined and quite often brutal. The fringe elements even more so. I just wonder why the Georgians, who know this up close and personal, would make that move, inviting a response like this. If they did, as seems very likely, its either very dumb, or very calculating.

My knowledge of the situation in Georgia is painfully lacking, and I cannot say which side is more justified. But I do notice when people are parroting talking points and reading from a script, and that girl and her aunt seemed just a trifle overzealous in their praise of the Russian military.

...if that aint the truth. A twelve year old, English speaking Georgian girl throwing a, "I'd like to say it wasn't the Russian soldiers attacking us. Thank You, Russia" in there for the record speaks volumes and for itself.

That right there is F.O.X. news for you. . .

I'm trying to determine FOX's position in that exchange. When the Aunt began her impromptu rant against the Georgian government, Sheppard Smith, the FOX anchor, became very uncomfortable, and even muttered an excuse about "gray areas" in war as the broadcast drew to a close.

On one hand, how could FOX not have known what the girl and her aunt were going to say? On the other hand, Sheppard Smith seemed genuinely dismayed at the woman's remarks and even attempted to dismiss them.

Bizarre.

that is right up there with that "kuwaiti" girl talking about babies being taken out of incubators in the 1990 war

She turned out to be the young daughter of the Kuwaiti embassador to the US, didn't she? At least that is my memory.

As regards what happened in Ga, its clear that the Georgians really did not think the Russians would make such a big move. I really doubt that they would take the chance with their ENTIRE country on the line of deliberately trying to poke the bear into doing something. Russia could have grabbed the whole country- it would have been easy to do. And with Putin, really, would they take that chance?

As regards the girl, its tough for me to download video here so it took a while.
Is she any relation to Baghdad Bob?

I trust that guy, Sheppard, with his powder and eye liner.

Actually I think Sheppard is fairly credible. He does not seem to be able to lie well.

Its obvious that her and the girl, were not supposed to praise Russia in the original "scripted" version, thats why the Fox News anchor started to get nervous when they did. Notice the girl's eye looking to her sides as if someone was watching her?

There is a lot of vague stuff going on. Sheppard cut her off then babbles the grey crap. It makes you think there might be some sort of world conspiracy going on. Lord knows we've got buchfusch in office and he'll do just about anything for his ego and place in history.

We've got lunatic leaders everywhere. We need someone stable... I don't think McCain is gonna do the trick. We elect him, we go to war with someone else, in my opinion.

This one is hilarious:

EDIT: I originally provided you with a youtube link to the FOX news broadcast in which Smith makes his most infamous blunder, but because it contains potentially objectionable material, it might be removed.

However, you can watch this snippet by going to youtube and searching "Sheppard Smith J Lo."

That was so planned it's silly. We're acting like we don't know right now because we don't. But we just had the 4th sectret Congressional meeting in history. Something is going on.

Yeah, that was some Leave it to Beaver emulation if I've ever seen any.

Good going fox. Mixing the old with the new. Finding the new you.

Actually I think they thought that she would whimper and so on. They seemed shocked that she had it together so well. Which pretty much tells you that she was a fake.

If she had really deviated from a "network script," Fox could've cut the transmission and claimed technical difficulties. It wouldn't be the first time.

It's possible the Aunt was feeding her material.

She had to have rehearsed a little- or she is an actress. (not a good one, but still...)

Seems to me he went out of his way to put the aunt back on so she could finish her point.

America is caught in a hypocritical situation with the Georgian matter.

Georgia was using force to retain a part of its territory that was trying to break away and join with another nation. Russia rushed in to help the separatists.

Serbia did the same thing in trying to retain Kosovo, but the Clinton administration took the side of separatists and made war on the Serbs who were trying to retain their territory.

It is an ethical (and political) problem because of the foolishness of the Clinton actions, IMO.

Yes...also in Kosova..it broke away from Serbia and Serbia was not allowed to do what Georgia apparently was given a free pass to do in Ossetia.
Man..the hypocrisy is sky hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigggggghhhhh.

At that point, he had little choice, but he interrupted her three times.

I guess you miss all the russian agitation and other actions to encourage the so called separation. But then again all too many people seem to want to spout off about this without bothering to look a little deeper then what they will find on the networks.
