So... I didn't use my desktop all summer (used my laptop instead) and now have forgotten the password to my account in Windows XP Professional.
How do I bypass this and reset my password?

I forgot mine once, so I entered a wrong password on purpose, hit cancel when it asked me to try again, and it let me access my desktop anyway. Maybe your system is more strict.

Same thing happened to me before. If I remember correctly, I entered into safe mode, which it let me do without entering a password, and reset the password from there.
To enter safe mode I believe it's F8 while the pc is loading.

Victory is mine. Took me an hour, but after some research... found a good password hacking program and found my password.
Awesome.
Was really scared there, for awhile...

Its a pretty safe program; I looked into it before I used it. Its pretty well known... a friend also told me he has used it before and had success.
More importantly though; I am now an l337 haxx0r!
