It's easy to see why the Eagles are 7-1 and we are 3-5.

Jerry Jones isn't a GM, and it shows bigtime. I only hope he FINALLY lets his fantasy wetdream go and hires a qualified person to rebuild this team. Ron Wolf come back and help your brother BP out! LOL

1999, 2000, 2001 are amazingly poor...

A person could put names in a hat and do a better job than Jerry did.

I am reminded of a basketball coach, who's starting forward got ZERO rebounds in a game....he said, "If I put my 11 year old daughter on the court and had her run around for 40 mintues, the ball is bound to bounce off her head at some point"

Same thing here...you'd figure, just sheer luck would have bagged Jerry a few good players...

Get Pioli and new blood in here - our scouting department scores an F past decade and thats not really debatable.

You know you have a valid point. The scouting dept. hasn't been very good. The thing that is annoying is when you constantly bring up Patriots players/brass/etc. Do a little research and come up with some other possibilities once in awhile. There are other teams besides the Patriots.

At least in some cases, the scouting department wasn't at fault.

The war room was screaming for LB Kendrell Bell in '01 and Jerry Jones was deadset on quarterback Quincy Carter.

There's always going to be draft busts no matter how you go about selecting players, but following your board based primarily on talent and avoiding reaching for need is the best way to stack the odds in your favor, IMO.

I'm not against overhauling the entire scouting department or anything, but the determining factors in how players are selcted is also a key element to successful drafting.

There are many reasons why we're 3-5. However, we were 10-6 in the playoffs with the same horrible drafts in the past recent years.

So, you can't really say trashy drafts are the definitive reasons why we're 3-5. There are many more signifcant reasons that contribute to it.

What are the many more significant reasons?

What are the many more significant reasons?

Lack of offseason moves.
Injuries across the board to starters/high rookie draft picks (Woodson, Glenn, Campbell, Peterman, J. Jones)
Players regressing/performing badly (Carson, Wiley, Dat, Coak/James, Dixon).
