Give me Witten over Crumpler. Witten is younger and has more catches, more yards and more TDs this year.

I love how these guys get paid for stating the obvious. There insiders tell them if QB play doesn't improve, the younger QBs may get looks. Bah! My birthmark in the shape of Gorbachev told me that I'd get out of bed this morning and go to work. Genius.

Wow. I can't believe Roy made the team.

roy made it on the strength of his hitting i guess (?). but larry allen? larry has played better this year but not at the probowl level. he snuck in last year on reputation. but if does it again this year the award has lost some luster.

He's playing pretty well this year. I would be surprised if he didn't make the pro bowl.

There are not many good players at Allen's position in the NFC. If anyone stood out last year they would have had Allen's spot. I think Allen is the default probowl guy for his position. Even if Allen doesn't play well (like last year), you have to think of someone to put in there. For most people, no other names come to mind so they just keep the default guy in there.

True but who in the NFC do you think is truly playing better?

He's not the same player...but that doesn't mean he doesn't belong on that list. He had a bad game last week, so did everyone on our defense except for Rayburn. He is playing better than last season...and has been improving (up until last week). Remember, he missed preseason and TC.

I hate pastabelly.....

he's so bias......He just picked the stat leaders and not the best at each position.......

tiki barber over portis, alexander, or green......?

javon walker over moss, bruce , or holt ?

And why the H*LL is C. Griffen not the NT?....who the F*** is kevin williams....

I don't get the smoot pick either......He's not playing any different, we're just not giving the WR's time to throw.......stupid......though I understand M. Washington.....he's a gem.....

Kevin Williams is the unstoppable DT for the Vikings.

.

Portis has shown he's nothing more than a good RB. His huge numbers were a product of Denver's system. He will never have another 1500 yard season again. I hope he relishes the extra money he got, he could have been great if he stayed in Denver.

Barber is having a great season, you can't put Alexander and Green ahead of him because they are more talented. Barber is playing awesome this year. Green is having a disappointing year.

Nooo....

He picked the best players in the first half of the season, and so far this season Barber has been the best. He is running behind a poor offensive line and is still (or at least up until last week) an MVP canidate.

Moss has been injured, and so far this season Walker has been better than both of the Rams receivers. If you don't know who he is, he was a first round pick for the Packers a couple years ago who is just now emerging.

Portis isn't as good as Barber, and Green fumbles too much. Alexander has better stats than Barber, and was left off the list. There goes your theory.

Griffin...well...hopefully someday he will be in the same class as Williams.

Let's be honest guys, some positions are more visible than others. With some of these positions, it's so subjective. For example, evaluating the play of a free safetyl can be extremely subjective. For one thing, you don't get to see them play all that much. So most journalists like Pastabelly just include the John Lynch and Brian Dawkins picks every year. Now Roy will be one of those guys that is cemented in their minds. He will make some Pro Bowls although he may not deserve it some years because the writers don't really care all that much about safety. Same thing for positions like guard and center. What really separates a LG from another one? So writers get lazy and often pick players that were there the year before without really evaluating who is playing well. I can remember so many times when Erik Williams made the Pro Bowl when he should not have. The media didn't want to bother researching who the best RT was and Williams was an easy pick because of his past glory. Fullback is another classic position. You can make the Pro Bowl on merit one year and the next year play awful and still make the Pro Bowl that year because the media doesn't want to do its homework.

You do realize Portis has 810 yards rushing with a respectable 4.0 ypc average in 8 games this year. He is on pace to rush for 1620 yards this year despite playing for a team with a worse offensive line and no passing game.

Talk about a system.

Even with a mis-mash of an offensive line and a scheme that isnt truly designed to see Portis' best he is on pace to have more yards than he ever has. Hmm..

Its not like Philly, Minnesota, Cincy or Dallas has great run stopping defenses this season.

Geez.

BTW - This wasnt really in response to you Mr.jameswoods, moreso to The Hustler.

That has to be a joke....Roy couldn't even start for all the NFC teams at FS....SS is his position....calling him all NFC at FS is a joke, imo.
