My Dad is a field service guy and he is being sent out to Intel in PHX for a coupla weeks. He needs to know where to go watch the Boys play and any other info you guys think would be useful. I'll pass along all the info from this thread.

Thanks in advance.

My Brother in Law works at the Intel in Chandler. Majerle's is a great place.

So is Cooperstown.

There are no shortage of sports places in the Phoenix area.

This week's game will be available anywhere because of MNF.

Next Sunday's game he would have to find a place to watch because the Cardinals are on the road which means that will be the local Phoenix Broadcast.

All the places Hostile mentioned are great.

Do you know where in Phoenix he will be?

In Ahwautukee/Chandler- Payton's Place or Gillians (Don't know if Damons is still open; that's another great option)

In Phoenix/downtown - Champs - 24th avenue and Camelback. It's in the Biltmore Shopping Plaze.

In Glendale/Westside- I recommend McDuffys or Fox n the Hound

In Tempe - McDuffys

Otherwise, most bars like TGI Fridays and anything he can find on the road will play the Cowboys game because most fans in Phoenix are Cowboys fans.

Scottsdale - Fox Sports Grille or Gillians

Yes, the plant is in Chandler. Gilbert is the closest neighboring suburb. Mesa is not far. Phoenix and Scottsdale are the furthest away.

Actually, the Intel Plant is closer to Ahwautukee than Gilbert or Mesa. It's in the western border of Chandler which borders Ahwautukee foothills on the other side of the I-10 free way. I know because I used to live accross from it. The plant is on Rural and Chandler BLVD. Damons would be the easiest to find because it's on the corner of Chandler and I-10. Chances are he will drive by it on his way to the plant. I don't like Damons because the food is lousy but the TV setup is great. I like Gillians better which is right by Damons but its more expensive. Gillians is on Ray and I-10 accross the street from Sams Club.

Damons went out of business about a year ago, so don't send him there.

Welcome to the forum. I hope you'll post more often.

Are you serious? That's just a shame because it was a great place. I'm giving all this advice from 2 hours away so I don't know these things.

You know what it is with me James? I have never recognized the division lines of the smaller suburbs. To me Apache Junction is Mesa. I know that's not true. Stapley is Gilbert. I know that's not true too. I usually just think of the 7 larger suburbs. (Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, and Queen Creek.) I forget the smaller ones.

I've never been to Gillian's but I'll give it a try next time I'm up there.

I've not been to any of the casinos either. Maybe someone who knows their names could include those for JT's dad?

JT, if your dad likes magic let me know. My Brother-in-law is a magician/juggler in Phoenix and performs all over. I can easily get him free tickets to a show at will call.
