Anyone watch "NFL Countdown" this am? Well, the braintrust is convinced that:
Steve Young--"I'll bet $100 that he doesn't coach next year."
Michael Irvin--Well, Mikey is shouting about a lot of things. Let's see, if we'd only drafted Stephen Jackson, we'd apparently be going to the Super Bowl. Today he was on about AB. He thought Bill should have cut AB the day the incident happened, & that Bill lost the team that day.
Tom Jackson (aka, the only one with brains)--Bill probably kept too many people from last year because of the 10-6 record. He'll blow up the team this offseason & not have so many undersized defensive players.

Good post Kittymama! I'm kinda getting sick of Irvin as of late. Plus everything out of his mouth is how great T.O. is.

Much as I hate it that the Sox beat the Yanks...I respect Theo Epstein who recently said that more teams have gotten worse by standing pat after winning the world series than those who made moves...he felt that changes HAVE to be made after a successful season...
We should have followed the same philosophy.

Hmm?
First time I've heard that theory.
Nope, I don't buy it. The troubles point to the defense and the injuries not the moves on offense.

Totally agree Juke. Coach Parcells bought into that #1 defensive ranking and decided to "stand pat" by getting/using similar or lesser talent to fill vacancies at RCB, DT and RDE.

What do you and Tom Jackson (aka an idiot with no clue about actual facts) consider 'blowing up the team'???
25% turnover? 30%? 40%? 50%? 60%?
How about 74.8% roster turnover since Parcells' arrival?
Facts:
Of 65 players on the team under Campo in 2002 (including IR) only 31 remained on the roster in 2003, and only 17 (26.2%) of the players Parcells inherited remain on the roster today. Parcells dumped 52% of Campos players his first season, and 45% of the remainder in his 2nd season.
Of the 26 players Parcells added to the roster in 2003 (not counting blown draft picks who did not make the team), he retained 16 (62%) for 2004. All together, of the 57 players on the roster in 2003, 24 (42%) are no longer on the team.
Put another way, 47% of the players on the active roster today were not on the team a year ago, 74% of the players on the active roster today were not on the team prior to Parcells' arrival.
Tom Jackson is clearly an idiot if he thinks Parcells hasn't 'blown up' the roster.
