Hey guys.

Just got home after having emergency Lap Chole today.

I know McCain/Palin don't like me ripping on me..but damn that was a brutal attack instigated by them to shut me up.

:D

Obama did call to wish me a speedy recovery though.

:D

On a serious note...I wish this on no one.

Last year, I had to have emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder as well. For three years, I would suffer these terrible, intermittent stomach pains that would last anywhere between 5 and 7 hours. I couldn't sleep, sit down, or even stand still. Trust me, you'll be much more comfortable now, and you won't fear eating certain foods.

He should probably continue to fear the food pkg's I keep sending him. :D

Surprisingly I fell pretty good right now.

They gave me some Vicodin...I'm going to see why Farve loved it so much.

On a serious note, these stomach pains were so painful and so intense that you literally contemplated dying as a means of ending it. I might've eaten something laced with strychnine had you offered it.:D

True story: For some inexplicable reason, as I started waking up directly after my surgery, I was convinced that I was Flozell Adams. I actually told the doctors to leave me alone lest I "beat them up because I was Flozell Adams."

I am not joking. Those were my exact words.

EDIT: Of course, the irony is this: Flozell is 6'6" 330 pound African American male. I'm a 5'6" 160 pound white guy. I don't think I had anyone fooled.

My wife had gall stones. After they did the tests and found them they said they couldn't operate, because she was pregnant. Shocked us a bit.

Then she got a lot worse. I took her to the ER, and they scheduled her for surgery. Her bile and liver counts were sky high. Into surgery she goes. Remove the gall bladder.

The next day she was still in major pain. The Dr. came in and said, "let's get you out of this chicken outfit." I took her home and she kept getting worse.

I'd call the Gastro-enterologist and he'd say "check with her Ob/Gyn. I'd call him and he'd say, "i don't know anything about gastro-enterology."

I finally had to threaten him and told him to have them ready to meet us at the ER. So, I took her back and they had removed her gall bladder all right. But the gall stones were already in the bile duct. Her bile and liver counts were higher.

Here she was 2 months pregnant and she had lost 10 pounds form being so sick. Not good. So back to surgery she goes to remove the gall stones from the bile duct. They did a procedure called an endoscopy. She woke up in the middle of it and they could not put her back under.

You know, they had the unmitigated gall (excuse the pun) to send me a surgical bill plus other expenses. Ultimately I got both of my co-pays for the ER re-paid to me, all of her surgeries, and hospital stay were free, and out of pocket we paid 15 bucks for a pain prescription.

I really feel for you right now. Make sure they do a good job. Make absolute sure.

Glad you are feeling better CC...and yes it was those evil republicans to blame.

However there is a silver lining. Luckily for you this happened before there was any chance of Obama instituting a universal health care system and you wind up having to be operated on by a veterinarian. :laugh2:

Wow bad story.

And that bolded part is what they REALLY want to avoid as your wife experienced.

Glad you're better... I had the same thing in '96 so I had the Lap. Unfortunately I had put it off too long and had gangegrene so I have a scar from sternum to navel...

Glad you didn't have to go through that...

I think we should protest Gall Bladders, we don't need them and all they do is cause attacks on people. Same with Appendixes, get rid of these insidious terrorist organs, before they get rid of us!

I hope I never get that ****.

I had my appendix removed on my 16th birthday. That sucked. To this day, I cannot drink cherry kool-aid, as it reminds me of the nasty stuff I had to drink when they were examining me. Bleh.

I remember when I first got out of surgery, they told me to lift up... I did...and I passed out again within seconds. Never knew why they woke me up. I think they were trying to put my hospital clothing back on after surgery.

WHen I finally "came too" as in could stay awake.... they told me if I had to piss, buzz a nurse.

Eff that.

When a man's gotta pee, he pees on his own.

It probably took 10 minutes of agonizing pain to get out of bed... followed by constant praying that I wouldn't pass out before I got back into bed.

Made it safely to and back.

Nurses weren't happy when I told them that, though.

Good thing you live in the United States. In Canada you would take a number and they would call you in six months.
