After starting off pretty good it looks like they are starting to panic and are going to start Eli next week agianst Falcons.

Only if Parcells would learn that it's time to sit VT and start Henson.

It would be great to compare the 2 prospects. Watch their peaks and valleys. Watch their development curve.

It could happen if Vinny can't get the job done tonight.

Is it bad for me to wish that? Sorry...sick of the Vinnie thing...we need to move on with the future. Resistance is futile...

Well you might get your wish tonight, because a Cowboys loss ends the season.

I don't care how pretty Henson looked in the off-season or training camp, there was absolutly no way he was starting over Vinny on a Bill Parcells teams when the games still mattered.

I just hope, that if Henson gets the nod next Sunday, he will be given a chance to develop. Because the chance of the season getting uglier are more likely with Henson under center. Unless he's a total turd, it would be ridiculous to spend a 1st Rd. pick on another QB.

We are trying to make the playoffs

while the Giants are preparing for their future

Anyone else thinks this is messed up???

bTW I am in the camp of giving Henson some time before throwing him in there but I just thought this was odd.

I know you're joking, because I know you are a diehard Cowboy fan and a diehard fan would never wish such thing. If they did, it would be taken back as soon as the Monday Night theme song blared through your TV speakers. :p

I totally agree with ya...just don't like it. I'm a fan and am willing to give up the rest of this season to know what we have in Henson, Lee, JJ, Rogers so we can prepare for a run in the near future years. I also recognize that as a coach BP would never do that...he is doing everything he can to win now...as he should.

I'm fine with it if Drew struggles...in fact would be surprised if he does not...BUT we need to know if he has "IT" this year. We must. Same thing at RB...if not we have two pics that can take care of those things this year...at least at RB with players like Benson and C. Williams available.

Yes, I do. I think you can do both.

I'd never wish for a loss. Not ever.

I do wish something would get Henson into the game tonight and him pull it out.

I agree, but I think the RBs situation is much different. I think the Cowboys should draft a RB in either the 1st (2nd pick) or 2nd Rd. Thats a discussion we'll have down the road ;)

Whats is going to be?

a. Vinny gets injured

b. Vinny plays poorly.

I think those are the only reasons why Henson would get in the game.

By the way, I wouldn't put it past Parcells to tell Vinny to fake an injury. I believe they are that close. I could be wrong too.

I can't blame fans for wanting to get on with the future. We aren't getting any younger. It was 10 years after "The Dodger" hung em up and then 3 years of hell before Aikman answered the call.

How long have the Steelers been waiting?

Big Bens presence doesn't gurantee Lombardi, but it sure does put butts in the seats.

I think A is the way I would go. Only because then there is no going back.

I hate to even consider it though. I don't ever wish injury on a player.

I'd prefer the option be that Vinny is sick as a dog or that Parcells just decides to shock the whole world and starts Henson without ever announcing it.

The shock will be felt mostly in Vegas :D

My brother is going to the game. He is hoping Henson gets to play too. He wants to claim he was there the day Henson took his 1st snap. My youngest brother hopes Vinny plays the entire game and plays just good enough to lose it without getting benched. He's jealous my brother didn't get him a ticket.

Ideal Draft:
1a) Derrick Johnson
1b) Marlin Jackson
2) Darnell Bing
3) No Pic
4) Best OG on board
5) Marion Barber or Anthony Davis
6) BPA
7) BPA

Now way in hell does Marion Barber last that long. He's a possible first round pick if he declares. He's better then any RB on our roster by far (That includes Julius Jones when healthy, and that's coming from a Notre Dame fan.).

I don't think he'll go first round, but you are right about him not going that low...that was me being really optimistic. He would be a good pick up to compete with JJ...think?

If we got Barber in the 5th round I'd literally s**t my pants out of pure uncontrollable joy.

Compete with JJ? JJ would have a hard time getting on the field. Barber is that good. Quite possibly the best RB in the country IMO (but he splits time with another VERY good RB, Lawrence Maroney). Maroney is the faster of the two, but Barber is the more complete back. I'd LOVE to have him on the team.

I wish the cowboys would of drafted the guy I wanted with that first 2nd rounder this year (Justin Smiley) instead of JJ. I think JJ would of been there for our next 2nd rounder or even the 3rd round. Plus, we also wasted a pick on Rogers. He got beat out by Tucker, and I think Tucker has a lot more upside too. So not only is Tucker better now, but has the possibility of being a lot better in the future. We'll see.

Not that JJ is bad or anything, but using my magical powers of hindsight, I would of taken Smiley then Darius Watts, Madieu Williams, Shawntae Spencer, Darnell Dockett, or Keary Colbert. Then with our third round pick I would of taken Travelle Wharton, Matt Ware (to play FS) or Leremy LaSueur.

Why can't I use hindsight BEFORE it becomes hindsight?!

I actually feel terrible about this but I spent all of last week hoping that Vinny would get nicked up so we could see Henson. Nothing serious, you know, maybe a broken thumb on his throwing hand, turf toe or even a pulled hammy.

Funny thing is this pre-season all the talk was about how Vinny isn't durable enough. Now we all realize the old guy is tough as nails.

You and me both...don't get me wrong. Vinnie is a class guy and trying hard, but it's time to move on....nuff said.

Their are like nine 4-5 teams right now! so it may be some time before BP thinks it  I for one want to see if henson can be the QB of the future, and sooner rather then later.

I just listened to Coughlin on WFAN...

The move has nothing to do with panic...

He said it really doesn't have alot to do with Warner...he felt only ONE sack was Warner's fault..he feels its more of a need for a change of pace...

NOW...let the battles begin...Manning is going to start against the Falcons, 30 sacks on the year...and then next week, the Eagles...

So a kid QB isn't being babied by Couglin....AND the Giants, unlike us, have a legit playoff shot...

Hmmmmmmm....
