who should we be listening to?
How about Austrian Economists that knew what was coming. Now more then ever, we need to listen to people like Ron Paul. It is not too late to turn this death ship around.

I have already decided I am writing in Ron Paul this election.
I might not agree with all of his views. I may think some are far fetched, although he admits it as well.
But Ron Paul has more common sense, honesty and integrity in his middle finger than these two nipple heads have in their whole bodies if they were Siamese twins.

I dont remember the exact bill name/number, but Hannity has read the bill directly on his show at least 4 or 5 times now, its from 2005. He also discussed it again today with Lieberman.
I'll dig up the info on it and post it, although I think its been posted in this forum as well.

How does that address the Austrian school of thought that this is a problem with the fed and central planners setting artifically low interest rates as my post specified?

That wasn't your question, you wanted links about McCain and him addressing the coming crisis in 2005.

Wrong. I asked for a link to some phantom bill to see if it applied to my post at all.

Then you need to learn to phrase your responses better. You asked for a link for a bill that McCain backed that would have helped with today's crisis, the 2 links did that. Now if you wanted links that Senator X agrees with everything your link eludes to then you should have said so.

I said "link please". I cant help it if you make false assumptions.

I said "link please". I cant help it if you make false assumptions.Link please doesn't clarify what you were asking for. You didn't. The assumption was related to what was provided. Next time you ask for a link, my suggestion is be specific. Saves alot of confusion, IMO.

We have been on a death cruise since 1971. People act like this monetary policy has been around for a long time when in the grand scheme of things, it is in its infancy.
Claiming it always works is simply wrong. Central Planners always fail. The liberal media has done a wonderful job of hiding the real cause of the great depression and here we go again with bad policy.

the next time someone makes a claim, they should back it up with substance so I don't have to ask for a link.

Whatever. You're wrong and will proven so in about 6 months and all this will be over. Like always. I've ridden this "cruise" for a long time now. I know where the ship docks and where it sails.

You weren't clear in what you asked for, so you got what you got. Your bad.
Try doing the research yourself, so then you'll get what only you seemed to know you wanted.

You asked for a link and then when presented with two links, said it wasn't what you wanted. So, no. Not clear...to me and a couple others in this thread.
But carry on.

I fear a six month ordeal all but dooms McCain's candidacy.:o:

Give or take a few. We may not be back 100% at that point but the recovery will be in strong progress at that point and people will be finding more economic confidence. Further, I predict that within a year we will see a HUGE uptick in new business from the small business sector. The best way to combat all this is to stimulate small business and that will happen.

Anyone who ties McCain to this is a lunatic. (Not directed at you) They either don't know economics or are too shortsighted to understand it's realities. And if they think the community organizer will do better then are they in for a rude awakening.

I agree with much of what you say here. However, the polls all indicate that McCain is losing ground. His grasp on even staying competitive in this race seems very tenuous at this point.
I hope I'm wrong.

Have you ever listened to what the former comptroller general says about our future?
I would love to have your rosy outlook, but every bit of evidence says otherwise. Inflating our way out of this mess is just going to make it that much worse on us in the future.

#1 I refuse to participate in a bad economy. I simply make my own way with my business'. So I am good to go.
#2 Every bit of evidence says that for over 200 years we have been the envy of the world. That will not change. We will do exactly what I said. I'm telling you. As a matter of fact, keep your eye on the market for the next three months and watch what companies are being sold off and which are being bought at the high end.

I don't get how you can be so confident. The American public is not going to force politicians to do the right thing. Read my link about the cause of the depression, as a conservative, I think you will have a hard time finding fault with it.

Points for MCain for co-sponsoring the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005...
Bush held the White House and a Republican majority in Congress. So why didn't this pass?
Oh, yeah ("I coulda had a V8" moment)... Bush held the White House and a Republican majority in Congress.

Unfortunately, people are freaking out right now and the truth is, that this will straighten itself out like it always does.
Do you mean that it will straighten itself out on its own or does something drastic need to be done to help straighten it out? A huge bailout approaching $1 trillion is pretty drastic in my opinion. If it is needed, it is needed.

I was thinking the same thing. If that bill didn't pass it was more than just democrats blocking it.

You can dislike him all you want, but he always brings valid facts to his arguments. Cant say that about liberals most of the time.
