Obama said McCain is “right” nine times
by Mosheh Oinounou
OXFORD, MS — Keeping tabs

Obama has said “John is right” five times in the debate so far. Fodder for the next McCain political ad perhaps?

UPDATE 1: 10:29 pm ET–That was quick. The McCain campaign has put together a montage of Obama’s lines before the debate was even over!

Admitting that the other guy has a good idea isn't exactly a bad thing is it? Obama got in trouble earlier in the campaign season with Democrats for complimenting Reagan.

It's stupid to not admit that the other side might occasionally be right on something and agree with them.

How many times did McCain talk about bipartisanship? Is it really that bad to agree that Iran is a threat?

It's not like Obama was struggling to find disagreements in this debate.

There doesn't appear to be a cap w/ how many times John was "occasionally" right. At least not in tonights debate.

Exactly...plus Obama would say I think McCain's right...and then add something like but here's where he's wrong and we disagree, and explain.

If that's the best McCain's camp has...I'm not worried at all.

This is something that Obama did during the democratic debates too. He would constantly say that Hillary was right or that he an Hillary agreed on an issue. The majority of voters come away thinking "Oh, well if he an McCain agree on that, how far left can he be?" He's doing exactly what the Fox News pundits were saying he needed to do, the same thing that Ronald Regan did, he's showing the American voters that he's not a "scary" unknown entity. It's just the strategy of his campaign and it's worked to this point.

:squirrel:
McCain

So McCain was right on a few issues? What? We expected him to be wrong 100% of the time?

Bottomline - McCain is a neocon Republican. He's voted with Chimpy McFlightsuit over 90% of the time and will continue to stick to the sack of Wall Street scam barons. Can Americans afford 4 more years of PNAC neocon ideologues in the White House?

Adios McBush and your party's imbalanced, loophole-ridden, house-of-cards tax scheme. Thirty years of results don't lie. Your "trickle down" experiment is an utter failure. Bring in the next theory.

It's not about who he is, but there are regulars down here who understands that the Political Zone can turn personal at a moments notice....and calling folks troll and whatnot is better left in the Fan Zone if you can't legitimately engage in the discussion and express your views.

Here's McCain talking about Bi-Partisanship all the time...and then he pulls the he's so liberal and to the left that it's hard to reach across and then McCain's camp tries to pull this lame he said John's right...see he is.

Jim Lear: Lets talk about Iran.

John McCain...blah...blah..blah...but we have to keep Nukes out of Iran.

Barack Obama...Sorry...John's wrong there...

Jim Lear...He's wrong about keeping Nukes out of Iran?

Barack Obama...Yes...I HAVE to say he's wrong no matter what because otherwise I'll be seen in an ad making him look good...even though my answer will make no sense and I'll look stupid.

Jim Lear...Oh that makes perfect sense...continue.

I take my hat off to you WG. This was a great post. Your absolutly correct but more to the point, you've managed to get the point acrossed in such a way that all can understand without being offended. At least, IMO.

Very nice post WG.
