Wow...I thought the day we hired Parcells that better days were clearly ahead...unfortunately this season has turned into a terrible disgrace and we've had back to back performances that even the Campo era teams would be hard pressed to surpass in terms of ineptitude...rock bottom is basically where we are now...we dont have the worst record in football, but right now we might be the worst team...its certainly arguable

1) everyone knows where I stand with Zimmer...he's been the coordinator for an inordinate amount of the really, really awful games our defense has ever played, starting with game one vs Philly in 2000 and going through to tonight....I dont care that his dad was a coach, I dont care that some think we have a lack of talent (and we clearly do need some new starters at a few positions)...but this is year 5, and we suck every yr...we dont get better, we get worse...the least talented team in franchise history (maybe modern league history) was the 1989 Cowboys, but by the 2nd half of the season the defense under Jimmy and Wannstedt was at least competitive...Zimmer been the d-coach for 5 yrs, and in most games this yr our defense is not only not even competitive, its not even below average...this years defense will probably go down as the worst in franchise history...he has to go, along with the rest of that awful defensive staff...this is a poorly designed, and extremely poor coached defense...they dont do anything well or even average and are a terrible tackling team...if they dont make one other move this offseeson, the one they HAVE to make is getting rid of Zimmer..its time to try something different...I have watched this team religeously for almost 30 years, and this is the worst defense I have ever seen

2) Tony Dixon may have got himself cut, or at the very least benched for the rest of the year tonight. What he did on that last Owens TD is deplorable...he quit and literally watched Owens catch it when he could have really unloaded on a defenseless Owens and possibly broken up the pass, he did not come back in the game from what I could tell after that play...I'd cut him tonight to be honest

3) enough of the dinosaur RB's Tuna...enough

4) Darian Barnes represents one of the awful personnel moves Parcells made this offseason...Jamar Martin was a VASTLY superior blocker, and Barnes totally whiffed on several plays I saw tonight...he is not of any importance to the pass game or run game...waste of a starting position

5) on the 14 second school yard disaster play, not one player pursues McNabb other than the 3 (Glover pulled a Hambrick and tripped over the blade of grass so its not really 4) DL's.....why? well because Zim idiot plays the LB's and nickel DB's too far down the damn field...somebody should have been running up to force McNabb into a throw away or at the LEAST to run with the ball himself...NOBODY even thought about it

6) am I the only one who finds it somewhat strange that an official on the sideline can see Al Johnson hold in the middle of the field, but refs looking right at an easy fumble call on a punt and the official in behind the QB cant see their OT literally pin Greg Ellis and then hold him by the leg, with Ellis flailing his arms in protest cant see those? gimmee a f-in break, please...we suck and deserved to lose, but you dont need to give teams those kinds of calls...

7) Jason Witten is a bonafide all pro TE...and he does it all..blocks, goes short, intermediate and deep...what a weapon he's gonna be for years to come

8) isnt it time to give Jacob Rogers some snaps at RT?

9) I'd bench all 3 starting LB's, Wiley and Dixon for the rest of the season...Dixon I'd just release..at least the others do appear to try

10) it probably wont happen, but Henson should be starting next week and for the rest of the year...we're 3-6, Parcells will say we're still mathematically alive and that Testaverde is playing ok, but the truth is we are not going to go 6-1 or 7-0 with this team...the other fact is Henson needs game experience...he needs to make mistakes ON THE FIELD so he can learn from them now, and so we can see if he has the basic skills a consistent starting QB displays...he might throw 3 picks a game, but I want to see after he throws one into double or triple coverage does he do it again and again? Does he have the consistent accuracy to make all the throws? Does he have some pocket presense? Does he understand how to read progressions? Can he discern wehn to throw the ball on a rope and when to throw it with touch? These are things we wont find out with him wearing a baseball cap and listening to Parcells on the headphone call for Eddie George or Richie Anderson take turns at 1 yd dive plays...ditto for Julius Jones once medically cleared, he doesnt need to be watching on the sidelines

Good post as usual...

Tony Dixon, in particular, really needs to be fired. It's one thing to be overmatched like our collection of seventh round and undrafted rookie corners, but it's another to not show any heart, like Dixon. Not only is he awful, he doesn't seem to care all that much. I'd guarantee you that he and Wiley are the slackers Roy was thinking of.

Also agree on Barnes. He's such a spare. Why Parcells ever thought this guy was a player is beyond me. He looks like he's really wearing down and now is just bouncing off defenders. No matter how badly Hambrick stumbled last year, at least last year we could forward to Martin punishing linebackers. Not any more.

our defense is cooked. they have no answer for premier receivers outside of signing tonya harding.

She would be an upgrade, unfortunately. :(

I doubt we'll see Henson before the game at Seattle. We have a short week this week and next week, so there wouldn't be much time to get him ready. After Thanksgiving, we'll have a week and a half before we play Seattle. It sounds like Parcells wants to put Henson in when he has the best chance to succeed, so a short week probably won't be it.

Then again, if we somehow beat Baltimore and Chicago and are 5-6, he might think we still have a chance.

You guys are crazy - her signing bonus is insane, and she's a penalty machine.

Nancy Kerrigan, on the other hand, would be a pretty nice upgrade over Wiley. We could call her dat chick.

Are you planning on spiking the Ravens and Bears GatorAde?
