Question about transferring videos.

This year I'm taping my pee wee team's games and hoping to provide each team member with a DVD copy of their season.

I have nice Mini DV Sony Video camera I borrowed from the local High School, but how do I transfer the taped games to a TV DVD format?

You have to capture it to the computer. A second hard drive with enough space is recommended. And with that camera I would say firewire/usb will be the mode of capture.

Then the file needs to transcoded/encoded to mpeg2 and burned to disc.

You can do all this with free programs.

Yeah what theebs said. There should be a firewire output on the camera that you can plug into your computer (assuming it has firewire input) Then use one of any number of free programs to extra the video, make a nice DVD out of it and burn it.
