I saw the "political photo" thread, but I thought this cartoon was worthy of its own:

Funny how a label can misrepresent the true nature of a politician. A large chunk of that money during the Reagan, Bush, and Bush era was directed at military spending.

Anyone remember when Ross Perot was running for President and he bought some air time to go over the economy and economics.
He had some charts and had that pointer that had some funky turtles foot or something on one end (could be completely wrong about that but was thinking there was something funky on it).
Then he would say in that funny voice with those crazy eyes...It's not rocket science it's Voodoo Economics.
Have not thought about that for a long time until you posted that.
Guy may have been loony and paranoid, but at the very least that guy was fun to watch.

Yeah funny how clinton supposedly had surpluses but none of those figures included carrying the debt of social security, if it did he would have been about 117 billion in the red if memory serves me right.

this one is not a cartoon so much but I have to laugh at a president that everyone thought was adequate but is as adequate as our current one. At least I think GWB knows he, himself is an idiot.

Presidents get too much credit and too much blame for the economy during their terms.

The Playmaker?: The Redskins made the playoffs but lost in the first round to the San Francisco 49ers on December 26. During the game, Allen used a play that he said Nixon had designed. Nixon never actually designed the play, but allowed Allen to tell the team that he did in effort to energize them. The effort was too clever by half; the play resulted in a loss of yards. With the Redskins’ season over, Nixon decided to root for the Miami Dolphins in the Super Bowl, figuring that his residence in Key Biscayne made him a sometime Florida resident. On January 3, 1972, he called Miami head coach Don Shula at 1:30 in the morning and suggested the Dolphins use a quick slant pass in the game.

okay to be fair and balanced...i quoted the OP cartoon, then used the figures from an opposing posters viewpoint, threw in another post that takes a dig at the original post......
and if these figures are correct ( which i doubt any of them are ) then Clintons deficit was still 3 billion better than Reagans deficit shown in the little cartoon and even more than that compared to the Bushes.
hows that for fair and balanced ?? :D
