According to Fox sports Net, Jones and Witten were on a radio show and he said he would practice on Wed. and play Sunday.

I thought they said Jones said he would practice, and "hopes" to play on Wednesday...but I could be wrong.

I heard he said he would play, he might have said hopes, I am at work and don't have the TV to loud. I did hear that he was looking forward to his first hit to see how it would feel.
I hope he plays, to see if what he has...........
Yeah, I hope he plays as well. The more we playing time we have to judge him by, the better.

Even if he only has hopes to play, that's still huge news!

This is the most hopeful news I've heard re the Cowboys for some time, but I think the announcement will come from Purcells. Would be a very tough game to get back into it/prob ease him back with limited carries whenever he does return. I can't wait to see him.

if he plays this weekend that would be great... he'd have 2 games to assess him w/ a legitimate NFL QB helming the 'boys before going into the "henson experiment" phase in december. :)

Lets hope he stays healthy the rest of the year so we could at least get somewhat of a read on him and the future.

This is definitely good news. Against the Baltimore defense, talk about trial by fire.

I hope this is true. I will be at the game Sunday and would like to have at least something to look forward too while I'm surrounded by 50K+ screaming Ravens fans.

If the o-line doesn't block any better than they have been...
doesn't matter.
And don't say it's all on Eddie either.
While part of it IS Eddie's lack of explosion....
another part is the fact that guys like Trotter are in the backfield at the snap.

This is great news... I hated the shoulder injury but it was probably for the best... his torn rib cartlidge would never have healed properly had he played every week... it would have nagged him all season...

Based on what we saw of him in preseason games, I think Jones coming back to this team will be a big boost...his return would open up the offense and make the defenses play us without cheating toward the inside of the field.

It breaks the old record set during one of John Edwards' campaign stump speeches. :D
Notice I never said hope (I still believe in a place called Hope... ;) )
I am POSITIVE that Julius can excel in this league...

WOW... blast from the past... he did have that on good run against KC...
I guess the alliteration lends validity to the comparison...

Yep... Paul was our "Eddie George" back in 1989... but the fact is he was better then than what Eddie is now.

Did anyone else hear Madden talk about J.Jones on MNF?
It sounded like he was looking good and would be back soon.
Were not far away on offense, but major changes need to be made at the top on D...

Hahahaha... Man I remember him...didn't he come in around the strike season and play much of the next season? 88-89ish?
his return would open up the offense and make the defenses play us without cheating toward the inside of the field.
Unfotunatly, I don't think defenses are going to respect him until he does something. That said, I hope he is fully healthy and makes some big plays asap!

I think the offense can be that much better with the consistent threat of a running game. This team was still forced over and over to convert 3rd and longs because of short gains on 1st and 2nd down. All of the sudden, with a running game, the Boys can sustain long drives and win that TOP battle. It'd be nice if JJ and Henson work out so the offseason can be used to reconfigue the D.

Wow...I haven't seen so much faith and the "saviour" label put into a rookie since, well, Antonio Bryant.

I don't think we should expect Julius to be a stud right away, but if he can stay healthy for the remainder of the year we should have a good grasp on his abilities heading into the offseason. It ussually doesn't take long to see if a running back has IT or not.

But he did have that nice game against Washington in our one victory that year. I'd actually rather have Palmer the EG.

I juts listened to Jerry about 5 mins ago on the Ticket and he said MIGHT play. Players always say they will play if there is any chance. LOL.
My guess is he plays but doesn't start. Then against Chicago he starts and holds that job the remainder of the year. I'd also guess we start Drew against the Bears. It makes sense to let him skip the Eagles and Ravens defenses to keep his head in one piece.

Y'know my feelings as President of the GRE Foundation.
Get Rid of Eddie
A foundation for Cowboys fans who against old running backs who should've been sent to the glue factory 5 years ago and can't hold Emmitt's jock.

Things will never be as bad as that. I remember the feeling of one moment having a stud running back, Walker, and the next moment we were in hell with Paul Freakin' Palmer! Never be as bad as that.

Similar to the feeling I had when we went from Emmitt to Hambrick.

Boy you guys are desperate. Julius will be lucky to get ten carries this Sunday if he plays. Gotta keep feeding the ball to Anderson, remember.
