View Full Version : No Sense of Urgency

OK, it's been about 24 hours now since the loss and something is still bothering me. Down 14 in the third quarter Dallas has the ball on the Eagles 40 or around there and after having success all night passing, they decide that they should try to establish a running game and they go nowhere and punt I think this was the drive before the Mcnabb 14 seconds.

Then down 21, after Rashard Lee returns the ball to the eagles 30 or whatever, they try to run more, end up self destructing with penalties and have to punt somehow. This is all sad enough in itself... but here's what bugs me....

Still down 21 Dallas gets the ball back with a lot of time left and decide that they are going to try and methodically move the ball downfield.... run and pass mix....no hurry up, no visual evidence that they were trying to score quickly or even operate with a sense of urgency. Three scores in 14 minutes is not unheard of, yet you would have thought they were playing with a 3 point lead for the last 25 minutes of the game. I just don't get it....

We've seen this pattern all season from BP. When something seems to be working......he inexplicably, changes it. One game he'll commit to the run and it seems to work (Detroit), the next game (Cincinnati) he gives up on it after a half a quarter despite Cincinnati having a poor run def.

Granted the injuries and lack of action in the off season have hurt this team, but I just don't see any consistancy in BP's coaching this year and it's not helping.
