This is just one of those movies I watch over and over and laugh. The lines just stay in my mind. No other movie has ever done that.

"Me love you long time. Me give you ..."

"My mommy only allows me to spend $5."

"Listen here numbnuts, didn't mommy and daddy love you enough?"

"How about one(pullup) for the Corps? I guess the Corps don't get theirs."

"Private Snowball, "You're fired!"

"Gomer Pyle! Why is your footlocker unlocked. You know I hate an unlocked footlocker. There wouldn't be any thievery in the world if it weren't for @%&*heads like you! Let's just see what's inside. H. -----, what is this? A Jelly donut, sir. Is chow allowed in the barracks, Private Pyle? No, Sir. Are you allowed to eat jelly donuts, Private Pyle? No, Sir. And why not? Because I am heavy, Sir. You are a disgusting fatbody. Men, I have failed because you have failed to motivate Private Pyle. From now on, when Private Pyle ----'s up, you will pay. Right now you girls owe me 20. On your faces! Go ahead and eat it, they're paying for it."

"I don't know but I've been told, Eskimo ----- is mighty cold..."

But my favorite has to be:

"This is my rifle, this is my gun. This is for fighting, this is for fun."

This was the last movie I saw in the theater. Anyone else like this movie?

Joker: How can you shoot women and children?

Door Gunner: You just lead them further

Definitely one of the best films of the 80's. IMDB.com has a ton of good quotes and other info on the movie if you're interested.

I remember the first time i saw it.

Was pretty much done with basic training. We just had a day or two waiting for our new orders and turning in our equipment.

So the Drill Sgt rented some movies one day and Full Metal Jacket was one of them.

We were all rolling but I think he was laughing the hardest. After it was over he said he wished he had seen it sooner so he could have used some of those lines on us.

That was the last movie you saw in a theatre??? WOW..Holy Crap. You need to get out more. Go Check out Dark Knight at an IMAX. You will be surprised at how far technology has come.

Incorrect. Gunner says.. "Easy, You just don't lead em so much"

Because they are women and children..get it?

Good movie. The basic training portions are significantly better than the other parts though. I'd venture to say that once they leave basic, it's pretty mediocre.

Exactly. When it comes on cable now, I just watch the first half then change the channel when they hit the war.

Another Kubrick classic. Man I wish he were still alive and making movies.

"Hey new guy, flush out your head gear. You think we waste g ooks for freedom?"

"I wanted to meet interesting and stimulating people of an ancient culture... and kill them."
