I have read numerous post on here saying that Obama lied about taking public financing and when posters respond that he changed his mind, the Repubs on here say changing you mind is same as lying or being a flip-flopper.

Then I have a question that directly relates to this.

What do you call McCain voting AGAINST the Bush tax cuts as "benefiting the wealthy" and then being in favor of the tax cuts when he decided to run for President.

If Obama is a Socialist for wanting to roll back the tax rates to the Clinton era and McCain was against the Bush tax cuts also and wanted to stay with the Clinton rates(McCain voted against the Bush tax cut)...............then doesnt that make McCain a Socialist? Isnt he supporting "spreading the wealth"??? Isnt he wanting Joe the Plummer to pay 39% instead of 36%, (the difference in tax braket under Clinton and Bush for incomes over 250K)

So I guess he changed his mind, kinda like Obama did about public financing?

But Obama is called a lier or a flip-flopper for changing his mind.

So I guess using this logic than McCain is either a Socialist, a lier, or a flip-flopper???

To play Devil's Advocate, McCain could make a case that the Bush Taxcuts were unnessacary, but due to the Financial Crisis, he feels compelled to do something to stimulate the ailing economy.

However, all politicians lie.

Yeah, except McCain began supporting Bush's tax cuts in 2006, well before this crisis was in full swing. Well into 2008 he was still saying he thought the economy was strong and that we weren't going to have a recession.
